Alfheim red vine puzzles

I'm exploring the lake of light and some treasures and pathways are blocked red glowing vines. Hitting the glowing heart of the vine breaks them but they grow back in 2 seconds. No matter how fast I hit them in succession they immediately grow back. What is the trick here?

Look for multiple vines that you can take out in a single throw. You have to line them up perfectly, but if you do, the vines will disappear.

If you are talking about the first group of red glowing vines that you find as soon as you arrive at the Light Elf Sanctuary, you need to advance further on the zone because you can't align the three glowing heart of the vines from the ground (you need to be on the top floor).
