Also its not as big of a problem as you make it out to be as its an exceedingly rare issue that only effects less than 5% of all PS5s.
We'll see, can you link to the return rate because it's a pain to find?
Good one
Prolly now, At launch no doubt it was a larger issue. He may have gotten a launch version of the ps5
Order was on the 11th November 2022 it came on the 14th and went back on the 19th, it was the God of War™ Ragnarok Bundle from - https://direct.playstation.com/en-gb/hardware/ps5
After 1 day GOW-R crashed after every startup with error CE-108255-1 but run on the second attempt, after 3 days none of the PS5 games would load (GOW-R, Gran Turismo,Uncharted), PS4 games did work though.
I went though all the safe mode options and ended up factory resetting when none of them worked, after that I installed GOW-R and for 3 times it ran and the 4th time the error came back and it would not run again.
It's was one hell of a ride while it worked though.
The GOW-R bundle was released on the 9th November 2022, maybe they were rushed out for xmas or maybe GOW-R caused errors?
I'd 100% return it and get a new one or something you should be with in the warranty. I just played it on my ps4 pro since I still got 60 fps and it looked the same as the old god of war 4. Cant wait till it comes out on PC just so I can aim much better, cuz using ranged is kinda fun in these games. But controller sucks dong to aim. BUt also I wanna try the new ps5 controller. Thats what sucks about keyboard and mouse, is you dont get the immersion a good vibration system can bring.
Do any other games work? Cuz god of war 5 was pretty buggy. I hard crashed a few times in that game.
Seems on that youd get an error from the disk. The games dont use the disk on ps4 and above. its just there to install and launch. SSD's are known to be more "fragile" than harddrives so maybe the NVME ssd is messed up or loose. Mine in my pc gets loose every so and now just from the vibrations of the fan. Since its just a little stick that slides into a slot that isnt very sturdy.
The bundle came with a code so never used the optical drive disk, also gran turismo 7 would not run neither would uncharted (PS5 games), PS4 games did run though, I've read this could be down to overheating but its winter hear and the PS5 was standing up with plenty of room around it, with PS5 games using more cpu/gpu than PS4 games a problem with cooling would present itself running PS5 games.
Could be that sometimes GOD-R could run if the console was cool enough but a slight increase in temps and it would not?
PS. It never felt hot to the touch, and was never got any warmer than a series x.

Idk I always read that at least normal ssds are pretty easy to die out on you. Ive had a few die on my ina few year period. While having a HD that ive had since 2013. I think my NVME is the longest lasting ssd Ive had. Well thats a lie I have one ssd I dont use anymore. But I only used that for two years or so. Plus the nvme is very loose at least in a pc. With my moba I have to screw it down and even then itll shake around just from the high speeds of your fans.
Then again HDDs have moving parts while an ssd doesnt so im dumb saying what I did lmao. Either way all my ssd's die super fast from just usage. Its annoying as hell, luckily theyve been stupid cheap for a long time now.
God of war 5 is just buggy as hell XD. I thought it was just cuz I was on a ps4 pro. Which a lot of issues are from the HDD, enemies will literally not be shown sometimes for upwards of 10 seconds. usually its only a second or two. But that has gotten me killed a few times when it happens. Usually at least you can see a weapon though.
I feel like strong GPUs just brick super easy due to how much FPS they can get in areas. Especially during loading. I think games need to start capping fps during load screens, since a lot of issues with the 3090s or 3080s would happen during moments of getting over 1k fps. New world just took that idea main stream. So I imagine thats happening with the ps5 sometimes. Id be pissed, especially since even now ps5s are hard to get.

I wouldnt even grip about it much. Not like customer support can help with that theyre just underpaid people lol. maybe if they have a feed back channel or something or even posting on reddit on sony subreddit, theyll see that more. From customer service jobs Ive worked, the customer service rep flat out doesnt care, and if they do tell a manager the manager doesnt care lol. Pretty much it at least from the places I worked gets ignored, maybe if tons of people mention it theyll pay attention but they already know. Gripe out the higher ups at sony, theyre the ones that will be able to do something.
Its odd, ive not seen this issue on ps4 pro. Youd thing the ps4 would get much hotter. Ps5 must have ♥♥♥♥ ventilation, next one you get id put a fan on it just incase, like a box fan literally have the ps5 sit on it lmao
