Kratos melee grab and punch?
I can see where I really need to be able to do this with the whatever-the-heck they are's in the Escape From Helheim scenario. Damned if I can find anything in Kratos' skills that will allow me to do this, especially with KB/M. Anyone know?

You talking about using melee? Or grabbing enemies? Gotta be more descriptive, grabbing and punching is like 90% of the moveset.

I don't think there is a move where you grab & then punch them. Only when certain enemies are weak (like the Ancients made of rock) can you grab them & then use melee attacks to punch them till they're finished.

When enemies are struck, they take stun damage as well as normal damage. Atreus's light arrows and Kratos' fists do far more stun damage than the actual weapons. Knocking enemies into walls also usually fills their stun meter by a huge margin if not outright stunning them.

Then hold e while near them to perform an execution. Smaller enemies get instakilled, larger enemies for the most part give you a QTE where you can choose between light and heavy attacks for free damage. If you reduce the enemy to 0 HP during this, Kratos executes him. A few enemies don't have the option, such as the sledgehammer drauger or the mace Sedrs. The sledgehammer guys get an interactive charge attack where you can press left click to hurl them, stunning nearby enemies and knocking everything back. The Mace guys get this really wimpy body slam that barely does any damage at all.

As Cujo said, you have to simply give 'em more stun damage. Use Runic Attacks that do a lot of stun, mix weapon damage with punches, shoot Light Arrows (upgrade them if you haven't).

Ok, I'm at the point where the ship gets stuck and I have to deal with two whatever the hell they are. The only thing that seems to even remotely damage them is barehanded slugs; weapons have no effect. I've seen a video somewhere where Kratos grabs, repeatedly punches each of these critters, then snaps their necks.

Nothing else will touch them, and I'm getting creamed every time I try anything except barehanded attacks. Does that cover what I THINK I need to do and why? :)

Oh, and the kid isn't part of this one; don't think he can leave the boat, so can't shoot.

I didn't know about the E key, for anything but interaction! I'll give it a try; thanks, Cujo!

Have you been keeping the Chaos Daggers upgraded? Helheim enemies are specifically resistant if not outright immune to the Leviathan Axe, because its element is frost as opposed to the firey Daggers. The enemies spawn in such large number specifically so you can take advantage of the Chaos Daggers godlike crowd control and area damage attacks. I highly recommend investing in it, especially the move that allows you to send an explosion down your chain when grabbing an enemy. It does massive damage and area damage as well.

I don't know what enemies you're talking about, but in that part the blades were the best weapon. Just pump strength, don't worry about being a glass cannon, lean to dodge and parry and that's it. Damage, damage, damage, that's all you need.

Or maybe it's the two Vikens the dudes with clubs. If they are blocking your attacks double tap LB to break their defense.

The daggers are still at level one, with some rune or other installed; sorry, don't recall which one it is. I haven't had the opportunity to upgrade them, oddly... You're right; I like them a lot for mobs; and the axe is useless against seemingly anything in Helheim. Anyway, I'm already there and attempting to leave. Not much I can do but figure out how to beat these two beasts.

Appreciate the replies, guys!
