Queen is definitely the most difficult. Was able to beat all others only being hit a couple times. The Queen required 40 runs, and I was 1 hit from death when I beat em.

If you spam arrows into draugs they will not attack you only the boy Atreas.

For me she was the hardest so far, but I haven't fought the queen yet. Probably I was too underleveled though, because her summons would one shot me, but herself wasn't that bad.

Sigrun is the most difficult.

I thought until Sigrun, who's without a doubt the most difficult. The one in the mountain chamber was the hardest because she had a fair bit more health than the others and some tricky moves, that's the only one that made me use a resurrection stone until Sigrun.*
Sigrun has 3 or 4 times more health than any other bar perhaps the one I mentioned, maybe around twice as much as her. She also has attacks from various other Valkyries but often more aggressive, she's a mare.

*That wasn't a gloat, I waited until I'd finished muspelheim and niflheim before doing any Valkyries bar the ones in those areas.
I fully upgraded the armour you get in niflheim and then went for it, by that point you're pretty OP.
But be warned niflheim is really grindy and muspelheim is tricky in parts too, I'd do niflheim first to make muspelheim trails easier.
I played it on PS4 and made the mistake of taking on some Valkyries earlier, spending hours on them.

I think first you should beat the valkyrie of muspelheim, then immediately to the queen so that you can take the fight rhythm. The Muspelheim Valkyrie is something like a first blueprint of the queen. Version 0.1 ....

Without time slowdown in the gear you do not even need to try and also a level 8 character. The equipment is next to knowledge about the moves of the queen the key to have a chance. It is doable, but no matter if you start in the easiest or highest difficulty level it is always, always a real challenge.

I don't think it matters what you upgrade that affects the way you beat bosses.

All Health upgrade would let you do little damage to bosses but die lesser
All Damage Upgrade would let you die faster, but damage higher

Recommedation: Upgrade a Balance of everything that has health and damage as high as they can get without losing balance of everything else.

Even the game directors can't beat the valkyrie

In a recent Gameinformer interview the directors of God of War said " I still haven’t beat Sigrun, so I don’t know. I’ve tried for four years, and I’ve kind of given up. She owns me."

The people who made the game should be able to beat it on the hardest mode, that is like saying a band who records an album can't play the songs live.

Making a game doesn't mean you know how to beat it easily on the hardest difficulty, just saying

Almost impossible on easy? No, not at all. I was able to beat all of them (except Sigrun, left that one for NG+) on challenge difficulty. People have already done it on GMGOW https://www.reddit.com/r/GodofWar/comments/9a8l3f/beat_sigrun_on_ng_gmgow_thought_i_should_share_my/
I won't do it on that difficulty, simply cuz its a difficulty lock. I don't want to be locked on the highest difficulty if I have to farm something. I want that over with fast. Besides, I have a good challenge on the difficulty I'm playing right now so I don't have any reason whatsoever to play on the highest one.
