Forbidden Grip of the Ages

PS4 Guides tell how to get this grip. On PC I've tried many times even while looking at the guide on my second monitor and no luck. Anyone find a way to get it on the pc version of the game?

Is it Surtr's Grip of Flame Pommel? Since it has a low perk chance, I'd imagine you'd need a lot of LUCK. I like that it works like "Blessing of the Frost" (Heavy Runic Attack), but fire.

Use the left trigger to briefly focus on the various points as you move through them. I don't know if it's a timing thing or what, but it seems to help.

Its a timing thing.

For down, helps to look at the seal you are standing in the center on.

i aimed the whoole time getting it in the fifth step youll hear a gong cant be slow cant be too fast or wont read youve looked at it got on the 3rd try aiming really makes it easier IMO

Been having issues myself, i dunno if you have to be at a certain point in the game or not, but I beat the traveler, had Atreus light the torch (brazier?) been doing everything on sight as i see it, I don't know how I got it on PS4, but I did, this is there only thing stopping me for right now. I mean, I haven't gotten the chisel or anything, I immediately set out to exploring the newly uncovered areas from the world serpent moving and the water dropping. I've done everything so far and other than the Wulver battle just outside the tower (that I was VASTLY under-leveled for, but still somehow managed to complete) this is the next hardest thing I've dealt with. Playing on Give Me God Of War difficulty, this is the first game, and play through that I've played the hardest difficulty on, so, not that I think it's affect that, but maybe that's part of it? (I really don't think it should affect it though...)
Edit: Also, I've gotten the Muspelheim cipher pieces, just haven't been there yet, if that't of import at all. gonna do that sometime, debating if right before the last battle or just along the way, or immediately after i get this (or before if I get too fed up.)

Yes i got it yesterday. You have to be very carefuly what you do as you enter the middle of the circle, try to run in looking already straight at Tyr's Temple and start the instructions from there.

I had to do it a few times before it worked. Also note: I assume you closed all the rift tears already? As far as i know you need to complete those before you can get it but i may be wrong.

from what i have seen you dont need to close all the other rifts befor you do that one i had 3 other ones left after i got it

you dont need anything done in order to unlock the ONLY thing that stops you from unlocking is the Traveler but you killed him already so thats no the issue your not going fast enough or you not looking at them correctly

It is a speed thing if you dont do it from what i can tell very quickly it will not work and will reset

Update in 2024 for those PC players who found this thread looking for answers: Yes, you can still get this axe pommel on PC. In addition to the tips mentioned above - use your focus button (LCtrl default) to zoom in, do not move with arrow keys, only move your mouse, move quickly - I found that standing in the MIDDLE of the circle on the floor did not help; only when I backed up a little so that "Down" had me looking at the small dark circle in the middle, did the realm tear appear. You'll know you're on the right track beforehand, as the fifth zoom (Middle-left-middle-right-LEFT...) will sound a gong. If you don't hear that, back up - you're not in the right position.
