Sell food chapter 10
Okay. I'll say it easy. All mechanics are cool, just deal with it. But... I went into sell food with koi costing 600k and mushrooms costing 994K. It require 1M of food value to complete. What does this action? First it spend all cois 2x per chip (it's totally okay) and then it spend 2x mushrooms per chip. So i spend 1.988M of food value per chip. And that's the moment when i can't say it's fair. I know it could make code much more complex, i don't have any ide how to make it other way. but at this exact moment i can say i'm angry by this mathemathic.

I believe the end result in this particular case is the same either way... if I break it down to a super simple case...

2 koi and 2 mushrooms, doesn't matter if you do 2x koi and 2x mushrooms, or 1koi and 1 mushroom twice, you still sell 2 times.

just level your tooth hourglass so mushrooms are > 1 mil, then you are fine.

if you are at 994k (with the fork I guess) you are not missing much from the tooth to make it grow past 1 million.
If that was without the fork then it's even easier to resolve.

At the end of chapter 11 you also get a 4th part for your hourglass skill, meaning that your multiplier goes up by a good chunk on top of being able to get quite a bit of exp for the skill.
That will allow you to get more levels on all 3 of the previous bonuses.

Even at your current spot, that still means about 40 chips, which is enough to benefit quite a bit from that place.

Ofc i can use in-game mechanics to make it work better. But i don't talking about that part. I'm talking about unfairity of coding. In this exact example, from 40 coi and 40 mushrooms i'll get 40 chips. But IF it would use 1 coi and 1 mushroom to get 1 chip, it would feel different. Honest. Even though i'd get same 40 chips - it won't made me angry.

I think that is just internal bias talking. I am pretty sure it is programmed to do something similar to the combo that goes over the cap the least, which at first is koi + koi.

I personally would be upset if it chose to do mushroom + koi = 1.6 mil before koi + koi = 1.2 mil

Now, would it be better if food going in added to a total, and taking chips out subtracted from the total? yes, that way overflow doesn't happen, and there is no huge breakpoints where suddenly food is 2x as effective.

Yeah, some "leftovers" could make much more sense :D
and about most efficient combo - koi+koi is better than mushroom + koi, but that gives result of mushroom + mushroom , which was more upsetting.

My kois are 679k and my mushrooms are 1.02M (after getting the fork) and the game still sell koi+koi before touching the mushrooms.

It works the same way as when eating, it starts from the food at the top and works its way down.

I just ran into this problem and was ready to report it as a bug. This should really be fixed... Mushrooms are pointless for selling food until you get it past 1mil.

I cant say ive ever been upset about this. Its not really all that bad. Sure you technically overspend your nutrition to get less back when buying the salads. Though once you leave you stock back up on mushrooms, so its not like youve "lost" anything. This way, you have the goal of funneling that dragon tooth until youve boosted mushrooms over the threshold to finally double their value. This mechanic isnt that much different than a lot of other spots in the game.

for example you have the various optional fights on the three different islands. You have to grind various things so you can pass the thresholds to make it through the fights fast enough to not die. Once you do though, theres an almost immediate easing of blasting through them. The mushrooms at the market are just one of many walls in an Idle/Incremental game that surpassing grants much more progress.

A simple change would be changing it to 2M food for 2 coins. This would lessen rounding issues a bit, and more importantly make 3 koi -> 2 coins a viable goal. Or add a "bulk sell food" option of 10M food for 10 coins.

It's easy not to be mad if you don't do the math.

At the moment I'm at 996k health for my mushrooms so instead of getting 40*996k/2mil salads I get literally half that. (19ish vs 10)

I get 40 salads or 38 salads and 1 packed meal if I go straight into the square first because of all the extra food I get from earlier chapters. If I go in after going to mushrooms and fork I get like 24 salads. That's insane when I enter with 40 mushrooms.

It completely negates the benefits of trying alternative strategies until I've found a way to squeeze one more tooth out. Which I've tried desperately tried to do and still haven't accomplished yet.
