I will never understand the negative reactions, it seems that we can't have any female-targeted media without some dude b*tching about how it doesn't cater to him SOMEWHERE on the internet. Smh.
All it is is people being upset that the newest release isn't what they wanted+being upset that time was taken away from projects they like for a project they don't like.
Can I say I blame them necessarily? No, but they can definitely stand to be less rude to those who do enjoy a different play style.
The devils advocate would work here, if the game not only wasn't free but had been rejected during it's april fools day announcement. Not only was the concept met with overwhelming positivity, but it was requested so much that it went from a joke to a fun side project. If these are fans of the series, they shouldn't be surprised at all, and if they are upset, the fact that it was free, and the "time taken" used to make this game so minimal, I don't understand still that view-point.
Um, sorry but no. Not at all. I'm a girl and I also take issue with the way I've seen you generalising men on this forum, several of your posts being way more direct and derisive than that one. If someone came along and said the same stuff about women, people like you would no doubt be throwing a fit in here.
At the end of the day, it's a vocal minority of men that even give a second thought to this game. Let's not bring more bigotry here when that's what you were complaining about in the first place, hm?
Sorry to derail, guys, not gonna go any further on this, just couldn't leave that sitting there unaddressed. Back to the game discussion! <3
Most of the stuff you said can also be pointed out in Nekopara main series :v
Sure the graphics are weak but it was a free game, to have E-Mote in they would need to use a higher budget and have the game be priced tag to recover the money spent
Silent Hero ... Kashou is too
Boring Characters , filling time or cringe humor? Are we gonna ignora that some folks feel like that about Nekopara in general? Cause its just a slice of life with horny catgirls and a siscon imouto trowned in for the sake of humor.
I like nekopara in general but i don't tag it in such a high way like most fanbase
For a slice of life VN its good, there's even other CHEAPER VN's with the same setting as this one Rongrong Bianli Dian/Fluffly Store is one of those.
Nekopara got famous cause it started out as H doujins, has great art and people starrted talking about it online (mostly cause of the doujin or the VN having e-mote, specially during s3x scenes....ChuxChu Idol did this before but ok)
And what's wrong with the franchise expasion? that should be viewed as good thing
They didn't have enough money for animation? Okay, then why is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ background drawn better than ALL the characters in this novel? Even if for some reason they could not draw only 4 characters properly, why did they make moments where these characters are approaching and where bad textures are visible in all their glory?
Why is Kashou a silent character? Yes, he has no voice acting, but at the same time he has a lot of lines of dialogue and his own character. In Catboys, the main character can only wave her head, causing readers to get seasick.
And someone generally believes that all novels are entertainment for stupid otaku, why does no one pay attention to their opinion when judging novels? So it's better to look at the fact, and not according to some random people. If this is "just a slice of life with horny catgirls and a siscon", then where did they come from: vol 0, extra, Nekopara Ova? Why is it possible to switch hentai in vol 4 and why do a lot of fans play it without a patch? It’s not bad that the franchise expands. The bad news is that the franchise is being expanded by a third-rate game made by an unknown people.

Hmm, I didn't know about kickstarter, but don't forget about vol 0, which was released after vol 1 and no funds were collected for it.
Before starting the game in catboys, I looked at the composition of the developers. I also watched the writer, but I didn't see any outstanding games from him: the usual romantic novels, which are already littered with steam. Maybe he is known in otaku circles, but good games are usually translated into other languages(for example, Ace Attorney, Yakuza, Nekopara), so he is not so popular or a good writer.
This could be true, but in vol 4, there is more Hentai than in any other part. So this is most likely an attempt to please everyone at once. If the story is interesting, then only the most horny will demand ero content. At least, I think so. That is why Nekopara is quite an interesting project: it can exist both with and without hentai content. But this is not about that now.
Yes, the game will be distributed for free, and it would be strange to expect something unimaginable from it at least. BUT. A counter question arises: what is the point of releasing such a nondescript free game when you could make a really good product and pay a decent price for it? You see, if you compare this "craft" with the main series of nekopara, then the difference in quality will be huge. In a bad way for this vn. Therefore, it would be better if the announcement of this otome remained a joke on the first of April, because its existence really looks like some kind of joke. This is far from the level of Nekopara. Long and empty dialogues(which are apparently new to the series), the absence of the main character as such, in the end, that very special atmosphere disappeared. This is not vol 1 with guys. This is an ordinary no ideal romantic novel, which for some reason was called Nekopara.
I agree with you in some points but what I mean by Nekopara with guys is the setting, that's why I call fluffy store a cheap Nekopara, because the 3 VN's have the same setting - a cafe runned by Kemonomimi characters...and if we want to go even deeper...the meaning behind Nekopara is to be a cat paradise, which makes sense it exists a buttler cafe too :v - I don't want the male counterparts to be copypastes of the original girls personalities ..
And where's maid cafes, there's buttlers cafe's,
what is the point - it was a joke, but fans on twitter kept asking for this to be a real game, maybe they never expected that type of feedback and had to rush something.
And once again, coming from a joke of course the difference in quality would be huge, not the same team behind the main series, when i saw the first tweet back in April 1 I had a feeling if this was gonna become a thing, most likely they would hand it over to someone with experience in otomes.
Like someone else said, sayori stated they wanted this to feel more like a DRAMA CD, and its what it feels like. And seems like it was something to test the waters, to see if people would accept the idea or not, I would love if this had its own series were improvements can be done
