Scorched Caldera help

I'm doing the scorched Caldera, but I can't figure out how to make lakes or rivers for vegetation. How do I do this?

You need to meet the weather requirement for Thunderstorm.

Idk if theres a bug, but even after the thunderstorm, it doesnt create a full lake. But like 10 minutes later, another thunderstorm comes by and fills it up. But if Ive placed any percolotriums before that (for some reason it lets you place them, and they seem to get placed at where the water line should be) they wont count toward progression.

You pretty much have to stick to planting a jungle in a circle, completely enclosing the lake. You need to also increase humidity to 100% fiorst! Then, do not plant bamboo or anything else on that high ring around your lake. If it's all jungle you will be able to cover enough of the lake's area with the vegetation devices. I needed 3 restarts until I figured that out, and then it seems obvious.

wow, and I thought Subpolar River is a pain without irrigatorr, lake and ocean, and just crappy pipe hubs instead.
