Softlock on Volcanic Tundra

So, I got snowfall early on Volcanic Tundra, now all the buildings are locked behind lava, and I can't get that many tiles of lava before the snow hits again, the entire map freezes again, and I'm stuck, unable to unlock new buildings. Kinda disappointing, since I was trying to be conscientious about getting the low temperature objectives before the high temp ones.

If there was a way to break rocks, I might have a way towards salvation, but as I see it, there's essentially nothing I can do from here.

Unfortunately the conscientiousness was a bit backwards, because the map is meant to be a tundra so we know the temperature should end in the lower position and not the higher. Especially since half of the animals require snow and ice.

the idea is raise the temp first get what you need then lower the temp and make it snow but just wait until you try and unlock the sea creature i had one tiny square only that was compatible it took me ages

So restart and don't unlock snow that early.

Something similar happened to me. I had no lava tiles left, but not enough lichen. Couldn't complete the map with no way to generate more rock.

Then I had another softlock in the fourth map when I beelined the sunflowers and only got it to 93%. No way to burn them or replace the building ...

Yes, it's probably best to just expose lava until snow melts. Don't occupy the 2x2 forest start spots. Then plant enough grass to close the phase. Then secure enough forest, then tundra (go a little overboard on the tundra because you can later freeze a portion of it off for a certain animal), then set conditions for snow, then lichen, then forest kelp. Then you can do weird things to temperature and humidity as needed to achieve everything.
