Casual Players guide and game thoughts
Hello! :D
Here is a link to a google doc I have been working on while a semi-casually play Anode Heart.
Just a casual, fan guide. I'm still working on some things. ^^
link - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j8E2JKT0hBtn6BCKVMJ4hMPjtpRBFlVKN2rcyozbUBM/edit?usp=sharing
Just a google.sheets link. ;)
EDIT - NOW ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
Thanks to a kind user for pointing out that universal access was not available. X"D

I am rather fond of this game!
I love a lot of the little things about this game which makes it stick out to me compared to other turn-based creature collector games.

For one thing the story, its not your typical "there are monsters and your a tamer so become a creature master!"

Surprisingly I'm not at all bothered by the repeated level grinding.
It can get boring or bothersome, but the reboots/breeding and the subsequent fast leveling is very satisfying. ^^

Don't look at me for battling strategies, at some point I just Tank everything with Kobalith using machine/earth moves and trolling shield generators and using Machine Gun.... X"D

Such as -
Being able to use up to 7 moves
Freely being able to swap any learned move when ever/where ever
Creatures learning moves from creatures they battle
Being able to rename them when ever/where ever
Being able to equip multiple items and stack benefits (such as the exp item and shield generator)
LOVE the multiplier displaying in battle, rather than having to try to remember what type the move is and if it will be effective.
Most tamas seem to be multiple types or and learn multiple types of moves
Being able to improve single stats of choice with potential

The battling system is really one of my favorite things about this game.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Please don't take the following as any sort of deep criticism.
At some point I'm just rambling any little thought that flits across my mind. ^^

What one might desire and what is progammably feasible and balanced are different things and I truly did enjoy playing this game!

---------------------------------------------------------------

Of course no game is perfect and there are some things I don't like....
I wish more tamas had more/split evolutions.
Its kinda disappointing to catch a new tama only to realize its a single stage tama.....
I wish there was more incentive to grinding higher levels, the reboots/breeding makes such a high level cap but other and being OP why?
It would be cool if for every 25 level you could unlock a new color scheme?
Or even spread out the evolution levels? Maybe make high level evolutions?
I wish there were more negative tama....
There only seems to be D.Saplee/D.Neiree and D.Rookee?
Such a neat idea but there is only them. And they have their own dex entries. Would have preferred them just to be a variant or there to be many more Negative tamas....

While some tama are really easy to get and straightforward. There are some Tama that are very literally impossible to get without a Red Whistle because there is no way to get to them.
For some like the vulture Tama I'm fine with this.
But for Cyroar and Octobot, if you don't pay close attention than you can't even get them.

It seems to me that many regions have a very close level range...
It would be nice if the gaps were a little bigger, like 5-10 levels.
As it currently stands misty marsh/memory meadow/peripheral cliffs are 10-15 and scorching sands/snowlands are 15-20....
Seeing as how reboots/breeding can get your tamas to much higher levels, it begins a real slog to grind to the next max level.
At least the snowlands/access plains should be 20-30.
So for example, misty marsh stays 10-15, memory meadow being 15-20, peripheral cliffs being 20-25, scorching sands being 25-30, access plains being 30-35, and snowlands being 35-40.

OR have some sort of boss/event where the world at large raises levels. Maybe some sort of NPC or Gadget? When talked to/Toggled raises world levels?
Not like a huge amount, but like every region raises difficulty by like 5-10 levels?
Or doubling the levels of every region, so you'd need to go back to binary forest.
I know not everyone would like or agree with this, its just an idea. ^^

Once you get to a high enough level Dark.Asm just get added to the grinding fodder, but before that, and the item to aide fighting them, they are a very steep learning curve if you aren't ready.
I'm also disappointed you can't tame a Dark.Asm. I'd be fine with no dex entry and them be like a Missing.no but it frustrating because a there are Guard bots with Dark.Asm and Errow.Asm that you fight, making it seem like you can catch them.

I wish the bank could be viewed like the memory/inventory or the tama dex.
With sooo many items after a while it becomes tiresome to scroll through.
Items could be in a tama dex like view with pages by: food, ingredients, recovery, upgrades, chips, other.

Would also be nice if there was a better system for stored Tama. As it stands if you have multiple of the same tama you have to be really careful with which is which.

Not sure if you meant to have it this way but you need to request personal access to view the google sheet for EVERY. INDIVIDUAL. PERSON. as of time of this post.

Oh gosh, that is embarassing.
Thank you very much for pointing that out!
I have updated permissions so it should be available to anyone that has the link.

But you get a new color at level 25?
You want more?
And after you bring the tama back all level rise by 25%

Okay? Why is it bad to want something to aim for at later levels?
My Kobalith is lvl. 50 atm with a maxxed out strength stat at 255.
5 Reboots, 1 Soul.
So I ask you, unless there is a boss/wild Tama that is a higher level than that, to what purpose should I keep Rebooting/Breeding this Tama?
To raise level caps and stats. But Why?
Is there an achievement for a lvl 100 Tama? Or a maxxed stats Tama?

If there is nothing to obtain and no reason for being able to get higher levels than why does it exist mechanically?

As far as I can tell all wild and enemy Tama don't go over level 40.
There aren't any other evolutions, colors, or achievements to get after level 25.

With Reboots alone you can get well over level 25, and I haven't even done all the testing on how high you could get with souls/breeding

It would be better to have a world level cap at 50 or some other purpose/use for fragments/reboots/souls.

Rn there isn't really a reason to level after you have max stats
And the dev has been thinking about adding a max level of 50
But as long as the endgame has jet to be developed it shouldn't be that important
Also if I implyed that you wanting more is bad then that's not what I meant was just curious so I'm sorry

Your wording did come off as a complaint rather than a simple question.
Again I love this game and opinions I have or things I would like to see/change are just that.
Sometimes I just wonder why things are the way they are. :P

I hope my extrapolation of why I would want more purpose behind higher levels was satisfactory.

If the overall wild tama levels went higher/where more spread out this wouldn't even be an issue.
Which could be something coming up in the balancing.
I don't know and I'm not the Dev or on the Discord.

I agree after obtaining the alt color, or even max stats, there is no real reason to continue grinding a tama other than a personal goal.

I do hope however that if a level 50 Level cap was put into place that there would be something else to compensate breeding/souls.
As breeding, if done correctly, wipes all reboots.
Which with all reboots unlocked, and no souls/breeding, you can get to level 50.

That being said Breeding does do a very nifty thing of making moves easier to learn on a tama that doesn't know the move or couldn't learn the move before.
However with the souls system you can only do that 9 times per tama, if you have all the fragments.

That might seem like a lot but a casual player may not realize or pay attention to this.

I dunno whats feasible with programming or the Dev's vision but a possible idea would be having Reboots affect max level/alt color and breeding affect learned moves and potential?
With the souls/potential being a %, like 1 % per soul. Or maybe 2 percent?

I dunno.
Like I said I like to ramble and these are not criticisms so much as the wild imagination of a fan. <3
