Black screen on Steam Deck

I start the game and there is no audio. I select new campaign and difficulty mode. I select traditional mode and proceed. It says loading and then I get a black screen.

I have to reboot the Steam Deck.

Are you running the game from Game mode or Desktop mode? I have noticed sometimes there is no audio in Desktop mode and we are looking in to this.

Are you running in Vulkan or OpenGL? (We definitely recommend Vulkan but sometimes the Linux drivers can be very unfriendly with Vulkan)

Are you running the game via Proton or native? We also recommend native.

I tested some more and it looks like it's Vulkan that is causing the black screen. Game will run with OpenGL.

Native still has no audio. Proton has audio.

Unfortunately the game doesn't run that great with OpenGL, fps keeps dropping.

Sadly OpenGL does not contain any of the enhancements we've added to the engine because there wasn't time to get it done for both renderers, so it comes as no surprise that the performance is not as good.

We are looking into the Vulkan issues on linux, however this is the first time I know of that the same issue appeared on the Deck as we did fairly thorough testing on it before releasing the demo.

Not sure if this helps, but Vulkan was working on the Deck when I played the demo in December. So the problem has arisen sometime between then and now.
