Vulkan starts to a black screen and cursor only

Per description. When I start with Vulkan I get audio and a cursor/pointer on a black screen. I can start the game ok using OpenGL.
I'm running a Ryzen 7700x, Radeon RX7800XT and 32gb DDR5 6000mhz. My GPU is running the latest 24.5.1 driver.
The issue appears possibly related to the driver because while the screen is black the Radeon overlay that temporarily appears to report the graphics settings in use (default in this instance) remains on screen and can't be toggled off.

Same thing happens to me. I've disabled all overlays (including Steam's). No change. If I move the mouse around I can hear the audio cues when it passes over a button.

Specs:
Intel 12700f
32 gigs ram
7900 XTX
AMD Adrenaline 24.5.1, which includes Vulkan API 1.3.277 and Vulkan Driver 2.0.299

UPDATE: I still had the Selaco Demo installed. Once I uninstalled it, I was able to load up the Vulkan version of the game. Hope that helps.

UPDATE: I found a fix for this inside Adrenaline Selaco game settings. Turn wait for video refresh to always on.

No, only changing the settings in Adrenaline fixed it for me.

Confirming pressing ESC doesn't bring the menu up for me either.

TJA's fix (setting 'wait for vertical refresh' to 'always on' in Adrenaline's Selaco game settings profile) works for me also. Cheers, TJA.
