It'll be a while, unfortunately. What's currently here is what we consider to be meaty enough to make it worth the price of admission, but we have bigger plans.

With that said, Chapter 2 is shaping up really well and we'll be showing off a bunch of the things we've been working on very soon!
In 2024 it was 2026, this April it's 2026-2027, so I expect 2028 full release - given that development time for Chapter 2 already took more than a year after EA release, and Chapter 2 considered to be shorter.

I can only guess that devs were busy working on creating some spectacular assets for Chapter 2 which were not there before, had to plan anew the story layout hence why voice overs took additional time (only finalized version can be voiced in the end).
And unless Chapter 3 will not require ANY of that, and no new assets I don't think that 2027 full release is feasible.

My 2 cents.

There is no need for any speculation!

- The plan of how we want the full game to be hasn't changed. I already explained in an earlier blog post why voice over stuff had to be postponed. It has everything to do with development inefficiencies because maps cannot be merged together unlike bits of code. We either do both at once, or one after the order. The former is much faster and doesn't require Chapter 2 to be put on-hold. We do not want Early Access to slow our development down.

- Chapter 2 takes a while because it's not just a map pack. We're also refining everything we already have and course correct on everything we didn't like (which is quite a lot lol), which includes essentially remastering Chapter 1 to utilize new techniques and assets

With how meaty of a game Selaco already is in its current state - where players hit the 10-hour mark before they even reach the Chapter 1 completion screen - we are in no rush to launch out of Early Access. It's objectively already bigger than many full releases!

Time will tell.

Can't wait :)

We often compare it to the Diablo II: Lord of Destruction expansion. While it was still the same game in essence, the amount of stuff it improved upon or added on top of it made the whole experience feel fresh again.

Very excited for this to be ready!

Oddly specific, but
(looks at D2 Box set)
very relatable.
