All the games whose worlds I remember most fondly are ones where action and progression were interrupted frequently by just wandering around on first playthrough. Especially Hexen, Eradicator, Strife, Thief, System Shock, Hedon and Ashes among shooters.
Happy to hear Selaco is likely getting added to the list.
You should be able to get lost in Selaco if that is what you enjoy doing. And for the record for anyone reading this thread, I didn’t necro it. Someone else posted before me saying stuff about Nexxtic replying to people on Reddit and Twitter but they seem to have deleted their comment now for some reason.
I'm getting used to it lol.
Devs that dont respond -> Do not care about their job
Devs that do respond -> Responds too much and should focus more on developing
I'm sorry some people hate it when devs care about their craft to the same degree as I do.
For example, i didn't figure out I could somehow fit in bellow the VAC-Bot passageways after the crawler ambush. In my head, it was just a "Huh, how did i get in there?"
Then again, it might be just I'm always used to the Half Life 1-2 mentality of visual cues where I go "I probably/wont can't fit in there." "No, that path will murder me."
Even Hedon's second episode gave me a mind-♥♥♥♥ of "Huh? This text says i need to go X after grabbing Y. Where was X?" but I think their developer allow you to put notes and number around the map now. I probably should get back to that someday.
