Chapters 2 and 3 Size?
I know its probably been asked before, but how big is Chapter 2 and 3 going to be? I mean 30 levels is a full (medium size) game to me. If this game is going to be 90 levels, wow. That's huge.

Devs have said they will be shorter as they think act 1 three times over would make the game to long.

As stated on our Store Page, Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 will be significantly shorter. Still a good chunk of content, but don't expect 10 hours per chapter.

Nice that is the sweet spot then because I agree that if 30 maps per chapter with secrets also would start to become too much over the course of about 90 or more places.

Of course I still want lots of secrets and hidden stuff.

Ooooh, there will be! The shorter length means we can spend a little extra time making the moment-to-moment stuff extra fun.

What's the expected playtime for Chapters 2 and 3? 2-3 hours? With how Chapter 1 is 10 hours long, 11-12 hours if you do Starlight, 2-3 hours is what I assumed to be 'shorter' but you probably have a different definition.

Before we launched the game, I refused to give an estimate on how long Chapter 1 was because it's too hard to guess these things, and if I end up being way off, I wont be hearing the end of it on the internet.

They'll be shorter, but I do not know more than that yet. It's too early on in production

Of course a big benefit of them being shorter is that they hopefully won't take 3-4 more years apiece to develop, fingers crossed.

if chapter 2 and 2 will give together 10 hours +- it will be sweet and way more than enough. single player shooter that is beyond 10 hours is sweet

Believe it or not, Level 3, 4, 5 6, 7 (80% of it) and 8 were made in 2 years time.

When I started working on Selaco, I was the only mapper. So making the game on top of mapping was slow as ♥♥♥♥.

2 years ago we hired ReformedJoe to do our level design / detailing, so I could focus on level scripting (like the blackout), and work on gameplay systems

I for one appreciate bigger games, wouldn't mind them being that long, but development time is a concern.

Really anyway, its more about how much new stuff you can keep doing that is actually interesting. Its not worth having 90 maps if you ran out of ideas at the 60th. And I wonder how many invasion tiers you'll end up with lmao.

By that point every Rifleman would be a Juggernaut lol

Just make all enemies be voiced by Gianni at this point

Being able to make such detailed and high quality maps basically alone in 2 years is incredibly impressive. If you can keep up at this level then Selaco 1.0 will go down as one of the best FPS games of all time, I'm sure of that.

I just beat it on captain and got 100% in about 20 hours.

I hope you work on some of the level design in the future chapters, the first 2 levels were some of the best in the game.
