I believe that Episode 2 will be available next year and you should expect version starting with ver. 0.9 for Episode 2 and ver. 1.0 for complete release with all 3 episodes.
Mind you, all the above is speculation and should not be taken into account seriously, except for that Episodes 2-3 are free of charge of course.
According to the EA description on Steam, the game might be finished late 2026... if everything works according to plan (Spoilers: it never does).
It does plenty of times. It's just the the cases where it ended up not being true are the ones that stick with us the most. Giving the illusion that everything gets delayed.
We've always delivered on-time (so far) and at times even earlier than initially planned. Have some faith!
Yeah yeah, I try I try!
The thing is that it mostly happens when the estimate is set far into the future.
When it's like "In the next 2 months.", than the chances are high that the game releases in time.
But when it's like in "Wrath: Aeon of Ruin" where in july or so it's announced that the game comes out in february, I could already tell that isn't gonna happen.
That being said... it was pushed back years, not months...
And when a game is released in EA in the middle of 2024 with a release goal of Late 2026, then it's devs are really REALLY confident about their planning skills.
When devs give their estimate release date, they mostly calculate the work they are doing, when they work in a steady pace.
But since it's Early Access, these devs don't think about possible bug reports and re-balancing and what not, based on feedback.
There was also "Freedom Planet 2" which got pushed back multiple years.
And while I can't give more concrete examples, there are so many games with the Update: "I know we wanted to release the game in... but we've decided to push the game back a little to offer the best possible experience."
Or the classic, they mention a sepcific month, and the whole month happens absolutely nothing, and the forum is like "Well, it isn't the 31. yet."
And when this happens, then again... the release gets pushed back.
I can't recall a game that entered EA with a specific release date which wasn't pushed further at some point.
At least I haven't played such a game.'
So yeah, sorry when sounding rude or so, I haven't followed the updates if "Selaco" yet and was mostly talking about other releases and "being burned" by them.
