Dev's are Grade A Toxic
I was waiting for the game to get more updates, but with them currently screeching on X about Stuttering Craig i'm going to refund since you don't care about money right? Absolutely sad. I hope Civvie rescinds any sort of praise for the game.

Hey everyone,

After 1670 messages we think this topic has run its course, drifting further and further away from the things that inspired it. Despite that, we've read it all and we thank those of you who left constructive criticism.

This entire situation stems from a poorly crafted response to a direct question on Social Media about our involvement with the Real Game Awards show; which we were unaware of at the time.

In retrospect, we should have simply insisted that our inclusion was not a paid spot, and that we were unaware of the show altogether. The official Selaco account is not the place to be sharing personal opinions.

Regardless of our opinions on the show or creators, we have not and refuse to disparage or belittle our players and community. We are still making the same game for you that we set out to in the beginning, and nothing changed.

To the Selaco community:
We've been having long conversations about how we can avoid an incident like this moving forward. To put it bluntly, this situation sucks and we never should have let it happen in the first place. The community is a huge part of Selaco, and seeing cracks appear in something we've built up is heartbreaking.

Selaco is the first game we've worked on, and it's apparent that there's still much to learn for us when it comes to interactions with the public. We're now wiser and will continue more carefully.

You have our word.

I have no idea why anyone would be angry about an event funded by a community FOR THEMSELVES and released for free to everyone.

It's the fact that Craig has a history of grifting because he wants to, from what I was told, purchase the rights to Screw Attack so he'll pinch money any way he can in an effort to save up and do so.
Putting a $30 price tag on VOTING is absolutely insane considering there wasn't any real "award".
There was no actual trophy to win, there's nothing counted on any official website, and it was all preceded by him exclaiming he put the price tag on it so "trolls" don't ruin it and that "wokies" won't be able to vote cause they're poor. Basically calling anyone poor woke

Everyone outside Craig's circle saw the show for what it really was.
One giant scam that made Craig a lot of money

Though I do find the fact the gameshow was basically advertised as being "antiwoke" and they ended up voting for woke games 75% of the time

Like Nightmare Kart got their vote for best racing. Nightmare Kart.
A game who's single dev is a trans furry and I don't believe they knew that lol

You really contradict yourself. No one care whether the dev is trans or furry. They make a great game, then they make a great game.
How is it a scam if you know what you are getting into? Wokies wont be able to vote cause they are poor? Wtf? You can vote or dont vote, they already explained why they did it because they put it there as a stop gap from people trying to bot vote the crap out of the show. Then why release the show for free when he could have paid wall the show? The show need to make some money to compensate for making the show... Give me a source he said wokies wont be able to vote. Guess what he put an entertainment with that show and delivered.
Well that sucks. This game looks decent, but I'm not too crazy about their response. Having followed the development of The RGA's, it was exciting seeing the end product, and despite a few silly categories, it was just a lot of fun in my opinion. One of my favourite parts was the showcasing of a handful of indie titles. There appear to be a lot of misconceptions about the show online, but that's the way things go on social media I suppose (especially in the gaming industry).

Looks like this game is successful either way, and that's good, but I guess it just isn't for me. Not that anyone cares, just wanted to express my opinion that this little bit of social media silliness left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I wish the dev team well though, they are clearly quite talented.

Exactly, btw who's coomalot?

camelott331, one of the presenters

he's some weird closet furry connected with a bunch of toxic pedophile enablers (like D1ck Masterson, Vito Gesualdi, mrgirl, digibro, etc).

A bunch lolcow nonsense, dunno if he still has a thread on the farms.

Gotta say, its just real disappointing on the dev. Still I did have that quick tingle of suspicion something was gonna go wrong when I heard Craig say the ads had no asking involved.

And the fact some folks are trying to claim the dev should be happy with "free exposure" reminds me so much of folks trying to pay artists with exposure.
Nobody likes that. That is universally mocked. You don't do that.

.... Okay, not that far. You do actually know what the artist thing is about, right? PAID in exposure? Its cringe from actually asking and taxing the artist to do something, and acting like their work was for nothing but attention. This is absolutely nothing like that. I mean what, do you think we gotta go back to those days of devs striking Lets Play channels now? Does a Youtuber needs to go out of their way to get signed paperwork in order to grab trailer clips and talk about a game they love? We've always celebrated these things as good exposure. Its really nothing like trying to scam or belittle an artist at all. The only thing that throws me off about it is entirely in the presentation - Acting like you've got a big show, and collaborate with so many people, only to not bother to touch the devs you advertise just felt half-baked and half-assed.

Which brings up the next issue of why I'm more frustrated with the dev. The fact is, while Craig was lazy and pretentious to build this whole thing and not bother to talk with the full range of folks, this dev doesn't really do much other than act surprised, never heard of them, and suddenly roll with a hate crowd so lazy they don't even pay attention themselves to hear that the dev wasn't asked. Its fully disclosed. Its in there. Nope, just gotta go straight to culture war riots, and suddenly the dev is listening to these deaf goofballs and is one slip away from saying they "don't need gamers anyway".

And those are the minority. Still they are concerned and if the game end up being good and that's all it matters. Action speaks more than words.

This is just gossip and a whole lot of worthless ninnying. Any wokey could purchase the tier and vote. I didn't buy it, though I could and after seeing the show I liked it enough to participate next year. The first one was always promoted as a streaming event. The In-person gathering was always coming up second.

Oh no, people outside of Craig's community didn't see the event Craig made for his community the way it had been promoted since its inception. What will he do, ohhhh no.

BM Wukong is woke?
FF14 is woke?
Nightmare Kart is woke?
Rocket League is woke?
Barret is woke?
Eve (stellar b) is woke?
Space Marine 2 is woke?
Robocop Rogue City is woke?
FromSoftware is woke?
DBZ Sparkling Zero is woke?
Helldivers 2 is woke (LMAO)?
Palworld is woke?
The Legend of Zelda is woke?

The only game that won a "best of" category and may be remotely woke is Metaphor and I haven't played it or any Persona game. But given how damn toxic that fandom is I'd be more than willing to oblige that it's woke.

You know which categories were dominated by woke games though?
a. Biggest Cash Grab -> The Last Of Us 2 (Remaster)
b. Worst Bait and Switch -> Dragon Age Veilguard
c. Biggest Industry Failure -> Concord
d. Worst Games Journalist -> Alyssa Merc*nte

So yes, woke games did win at the game awards! In all the right categories, lol.

You don't even know what woke is anymore.
Completely lost the plot.

You're not even antiwoke at this point.

Why would I be angry? My "side" is winning ALL over the world, in entertainment, in politics, everywhere. I'm as happy as can be. I can look to a future where games are crafted for fun and to tell interesting stories. Not to pander to idiots.

Also I'm waiting for you to tell me exactly how any of those games that won the awards are woke.

"75% of the games that won were woke" lmao

God, can you please keep your cringe "culture war" on that dumpter fire called x? We don't want that garbage here.

Bye Felicia
I'm so disappointed this caused so many issues. I personally rarely ever post on X. Left a comment under Craig's post were he was asking for some Indie games to recommend to potentially show during his show. Selaco was the very first game I mentioned in my reply. It was my personal GOTY last year, and I thought it'd be really cool for the game to get some free advertising.

I didn't know however that Craig wouldn't even ask the developers if they wanted a free spot on the show. So I don't like how he handled it to be honest. I think it's just respectful to ask the Selaco devs if they want to be on the show. Don't care about the politics, or lack of politics of any of the individuals involved in this. Just wanted this really good game to get some more eyeballs on it. Sucks to see people say they won't be buying the game now due to how the developer reacted, but hey, their loss to be honest. Overall, just bummed by the whole controversy.
Was in my Wishlist but I just removed it. I don't support game devs like this. Every time I see them try to "dunk" on gamers or jump on stupid social political activist bandwagons and draw lines in the sand about who should play their game and who shouldn't, they can screw off. You want to play teams, then I on the other side of your line am not going to give you any money AND I will actively root for your failure.
