Insane to me that this discussion has devolved into the same garbage it does every time. Crazy you guys have time to play games while writing literal dissertations and linking the same tired anti-woke videos of people who also don't actually play games.

Nobody cares that this was showcased on the "Real" game awards - the developers clearly didn't ask to be and you're mad that they're not tripping over themselves to thank Craig for it?

I already have a massive backlog of games but JUST because you're so hopping mad you won't be buying it - I'll be picking this game up and streaming it to friends and almost certainly drive another half dozen sales of the game JUST because of you. Also super funny that you guys gave Craig 30 grand to make a powerpoint only to have almost entirely all the same games as TGA nominated in the same categories.

Perfectly understandable about them being upset. However, after them posted about not wanting to associate hateful individuals, yet they went on to associate hateful individuals... Even the guy Grimno is one, who the mods decide to pin while being misinformed and the ones on X. Pretty much they are doubling down, tripling down at this point. You can dislike and criticize the bad parts about the Real Game Awards is one thing, but two wrongs doesnt make it right.

If you're making some kind of "Award Show" being viewed by 4000 people and featuring people like someone currently battling pedophile allegations for dating and grooming a 15 year old girl till she was "legal", or another who is currently in a harassment lawsuit then I am pretty sure you would still need to ASK the developer if they want their work displayed and attached to it.

The developer is very vocal, so why they weren't even *asked* is beyond me.

And the fact some folks are trying to claim the dev should be happy with "free exposure" reminds me so much of folks trying to pay artists with exposure.
Nobody likes that. That is universally mocked. You don't do that.

A few things can all be true at once:

a. Craig should've reached out to this dev like he did others.

b. Dev immediately believing all the bullsh1t, unquestionably from an account that lied about half the people on there.

It's yet another sh1tty situation brought about by that stupid culture war, but one that was exacerbated by irrelevant mainstream journos and their supporters for no reason other than jealousy (AlyssaMerc*nte is already in a stream with David Jaffe crying about the money Craig and Smash make).

The show as enjoyable, simple, quickly went to the point. I loved the arcade background, and laughed at the random ass bar he had behind him one time, and seeing AVGN announce the Sh1tty Ass Game of the year was a genuine and pleasant surprise.

I have no idea why anyone would be angry about an event funded by a community FOR THEMSELVES and released for free to everyone.

I wish devs the best, and if they make a public statement about it (or not) hopefully they'll recapture a few people they lost. Unless they don't care, then *shrug* good luck, I guess.

Okay first of all, Grummz has never owned up to any of his mistakes.
The only time he even remotely did was when he posted that Veilguard NDA that was clearly fake and got promptly laughed at by everyone
His project as well is now up to 8 1/2 years of development with practically nothing to show for it.
He boasted it'd be a big 3 months for Em-8er and all he did was change an enemy texture, and then update the website with a bunch of AI generated images and a video from 4 years ago.

And what Grummz does is the tactic hes been deploying for months. Put all the attention on someone. Make up whatever. Make it like they hate you, they hate gamers, then just sit back. Followers will attack and harass them without needing to be told.
They'll just do it. It's why I jokingly call them "The Goon Platoon"
