If you're making some kind of "Award Show" being viewed by 4000 people and featuring people like someone currently battling pedophile allegations for dating and grooming a 15 year old girl till she was "legal", or another who is currently in a harassment lawsuit then I am pretty sure you would still need to ASK the developer if they want their work displayed and attached to it.
The developer is very vocal, so why they weren't even *asked* is beyond me.
And the fact some folks are trying to claim the dev should be happy with "free exposure" reminds me so much of folks trying to pay artists with exposure.
Nobody likes that. That is universally mocked. You don't do that.
devman is on these very forums and is pretty helpful, at least in my few experiences. Fool.
here.
Sure, but even then no need to bash at individuals publicly. Could have just asked Craig to take it off the youtube video. Craig will understand and remove it.
It was Craig's responsibility as a "professional" to ask the developer before putting it into the show to begin with.
He could have said "Hey these guys voted to show a trailer of your game during our Award Show on YouTube. Is this something you're okay with?"
There shouldn't be a "He needs to ask Craig to take it out."
Can you tell me more about this?
I am still interested in the game regardless what both side says and supportive. Still have the game in the wishlist
he's talking about Razorfist, which is the person i am critical about.
I mean if you find 15 minutes of Regal Cinemas Noovie Trivia entertaining then more power to ya I suppose
No one's going to think you're a bad person because a person you think is bad liked your game, just stop 🛑.
a. Craig should've reached out to this dev like he did others.
b. Dev immediately believing all the bullsh1t, unquestionably from an account that lied about half the people on there.
c. The decision to bring c00malot and PedoFist was insane to me, especially with old and present events surrounding them (a fail on Craig's part to investigate) but not everyone is aware of what they're going through unless they browse KiwiFarms, 4chan, etc.
d. Dev saying "eh, I don't need nor want y'alls money" is bonkers. For that comment alone I unwishlisted and I must have dozens boomer shooters on my account + wishlist. I love the genre. This game is for me. But not at the expense of knowingly supporting people who actively despise me for no reason.
It's yet another sh1tty situation brought about by that stupid culture war, but one that was exacerbated by irrelevant mainstream journos and their supporters for no reason other than jealousy (AlyssaMerc*nte is already in a stream with David Jaffe crying about the money Craig and Smash make).
The show as enjoyable, simple, quickly went to the point. I loved the arcade background, and laughed at the random ass bar he had behind him one time, and seeing AVGN announce the Sh1tty Ass Game of the year was a genuine and pleasant surprise.
I have no idea why anyone would be angry about an event funded by a community FOR THEMSELVES and released for free to everyone.
I wish devs the best, and if they make a public statement about it (or not) hopefully they'll recapture a few people they lost. Unless they don't care, then *shrug* good luck, I guess.
It's the fact that Craig has a history of grifting because he wants to, from what I was told, purchase the rights to Screw Attack so he'll pinch money any way he can in an effort to save up and do so.
Putting a $30 price tag on VOTING is absolutely insane considering there wasn't any real "award".
There was no actual trophy to win, there's nothing counted on any official website, and it was all preceded by him exclaiming he put the price tag on it so "trolls" don't ruin it and that "wokies" won't be able to vote cause they're poor. Basically calling anyone poor woke
Everyone outside Craig's circle saw the show for what it really was.
One giant scam that made Craig a lot of money
Though I do find the fact the gameshow was basically advertised as being "antiwoke" and they ended up voting for woke games 75% of the time
Like Nightmare Kart got their vote for best racing. Nightmare Kart.
A game who's single dev is a trans furry and I don't believe they knew that lol
