latest update performance issue.
Prior to the update i was playing the game quite well using a rog ally X handheld, however post update something has gone wrong and the game will not utilize the handhelds (limited ofcourse) power at all... its completely dead performance wise because the game is not ramping up the system, setting the handheld to its max 30w and the game is not going past 10w... gpu utilisation less than 50 percent and stuck at 800mhz, cpu 6 percent... its just dead straight after the update. As mentioned pre update it was quite healthy hardware usage and running well for a handheld.

tried both API options, no change, minimum settings and max settings tested, no change.

handheld is ofcourse AMD APU (z1 extreme/7840u, 780m gpu, 24gb ram)

I also play the game on higher end desktop (5800x 3d, rtx4090) and there are not issues here with utilisation or performance. max settings 4k etc. So seems to be an issue post update with integrated gpu? anybody finding they have the same issue, or with AMD?

Thanks devs for the continued work, we appreciate you.

If you roll back to v0.84 using the instruction provided in the Changelog, do the issues get fixed?

It's a weird one because when it comes to the backend/rendering of the game, nothing has changed.

So i changed back to previous update and the performance actually did not change...

The only change i have made on the handheld system that i have not done on the desktop since the last time i played is switched to windows 11 preview build 24H2 because of the reported performance improvements for AMD cpu's.

Do you think it is possible this build of windows is having an effect on the game performance or its ability to utilise the hardware? With it being not an official windows release just yet and only in preview/beta? For most games i had seen a small performance improvement (6fps increase on average for forza 5 for example) this being the first with a notable issue possibly related to this windows update.

Either way, don't break your backs, there should be no rush and we appreciate the work and your responsiveness to issues! thankyou.

I do not know what might be happening. We do not own an ROG Ally and neither versions have changed anything that should affect performance in a negative way. The engine has been largely untouched throughout the updates.

I'm afraid I cannot help much as I have no idea where to start. You could try the subreddit for ROG Ally and ask for experiences there.

We do not officially support the ROG Ally because we're just two dudes who both do not own the device (yet?)

Hey thats ok and perfectly understandable, keep working hard and crafting a great game, ill figure it out. thanks for the reply!
Dev needs to get in touch with Asus about the specifics and what command they need to send to kick the Ally into high-gear. A mode that will kick it to medium performance settings at-least and thus not need to completely drain the battery quickly w/highest power modes, but not be too drastically cut down to perform badly with low-power desktop/interface 2D mode either.

My ally gets stuck on GPU 800mhgz. It doesn’t ever boost. Performance is terrible. I’ve tried a bunch of things to fix it (changing OpenGL et ) but doesn’t fix the issue.

Don’t have this issue with any other games on ally
