Tips for Space Bro?

I've been trying to get that stupid level 10 achievement but it really feels like I'm hitting a RNG wall where the game has to give me bombs or you just get overwhelmed way too quickly.

Plus having the "Earth getting hit" cutscene play and then instantly dying to a projectile you had zero time to react to just isn't fun.

Is it too much to ask for a extra lives system or a level select at the cost of more Selver? I feel like I'm going insane here. I'm playing the main game on Hard and I haven't run into a combat encounter that's made me THIS frustrated

yeah i've played it about 30 times and i cant get past level 8. theres just too much going on. ignoring the difficulty of the whole bullet hell dodging aspect, it just doesn't seem possible to get enough DPS on the asteroids before they get to the bottom of the screen

Fly forward and snag powerups. Then fly backwards. That seemed to help for a while.

Yup.

In addition to that, I move the ship back and forth a lot, spreading out my shots - that way, even when I miss I don't miss, which keeps me from getting overwhelmed in the early levels. And obviously you need to conserve whatever screen-clearing bombs you pick up for as long as possible, because you will need those once you get to level 8 and beyond.

Other than that, just pray to RNGsus.

That's what I've been doing but with various results due to the RNG.

OH shoot! Hi! Loving the game so far outside of this microscopic issue.

Does this cheat disable the achievement? Since that would defeat the whole reason why I'm trying to farm for it (For location reference I'm in the... Radio Station? and using their machine)

I think I died on 9th level for 5 times in a row, until I decided to use rockets ONLY when there is a big red meteor and at least 4 more around it. Also whenever you see an alien ships kill them first, they have pretty good aim.

Managed to do it on the first try. I guess I got lucky.

When Earth is about to get hit you can do a tactical self-destruction. Destroyed enemies will not respawn. Be liberal with smart bombs.

This achievement does feel pretty dependent on RNG.

I haven't noticed any differences of all of my tries to be honest (same amount of meteors and alien ships). But it was before the patch, or maybe my game glitched.

Yeah, I just had to keep trying until the RNG blessed me with enough weapons to make it to level 12. On a tactical level, I saved the nukes for parts with many enemy ships and/or those huge red rocks.

But I've heard that a popular cheat might also work to get the achievement.

Got it second try, just save up missiles until level 8 and try to have at least 2 lives for this.

If you have 3-4 bombs going into level 8 you should be able to do it. If you have 3 going to level 9 then it's cake.

I GOT IT

I basically tried a combonation of every strat mentioned here, hording nukes and manage lives until roughly level 8.

I just barely made it, no lives, powerups and out of bombs when defeating the last red asteroid needed.

NOTE: I still have no idea what that "popular cheat" is unless it's in a data pad way farther in the game than I am
