RivaTuner Statistics Server not working properly with this game
Hey!
I use RivaTuner Statistics Server to check temperatures for my CPU / GPU and some other stats. In this game it disappears and then appears and then disappears again, I've had to disable it from time to time because of this. Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

GPU-Z also monitors temperatures of GPU and CPU, and is less intrusive with video games. Its what I use to check for bottlenecks.

Yeah well I've become so used to RSS that I use it in all games and I don't care to much about it being there all the time :)

Okay, some questions:

1] Does RSS have issues with other GZDoom titles on Steam (ie Supplice)?

2] By appears and disappears, do you mean it crashes and restarts, or something else?

3] If you have task manager active at same time, is CPU / RAM getting bottlenecked?

1. No idea.

2. So it shows up but just flashes away if that makes sense. And then it appears again for a split second and disapears again.

3. Nope, I've got a pretty good setup going so I doubt that is the case.

Interestingly it shows fine (a bit laggy) in the main menu and the datalogs etc menus hmm..

Is there a keybind associated with RSS that conflicts with the keybinds in the game? Maybe by hitting that key, it causes RSS to disappear, and hitting again, reappears.

Some other players have had issues with things like Radeon or MSI afterburner software. It sounds like the same issue you are having.

I recommend you toggle VSync and then relaunch the game to see if it helps, that seemed to help with those other pieces of software.

You also have the option of playing in OpenGL

Well RSS is an extention of MSI afterburner so that might make sense.

Vsync did not help.

This is by far no big deal just to make it clear but it would be nice for it to be working.

Still no fix or at least a solution or workaround? Other gzdoom games are fine with RTSS.
Yep RTSS definitely isn't working, with or without vsync
I just use the nvidia overlay but the RTSS overlay is much better

Still no fix? It's been like what, a year?

We have one engine programmer who is doing a thousand different things every other week. We cannot fix everything when there's not only bugs to fix, but also a whole game that needs to be made.

Other matters took priority for the time being.

I mean this isn't the first game that has issues with overlays, especially with opengl and vulkan, and usually it is way easier to fix it outside the game or fans knew what to do almost instantly. I'm just surprised that no one found or posted the solution yet or you didn't dropped some simple fix or workaround, especially since gzdoom doesn't have that problem as far as I know.

I have no issues whatsoever with it not being fixed.. To be perfectly honest this is not a bug like you state, you cannot prioritize fixing something for a third-party software..
