Selaco

Good on Steamdeck?
Is it impossibly difficult without a mouse? Is there slight auto-aim?

There is aim assist. I think Selaco is fantastic on Steam Deck! The only reason Valve didn't make it verified was due to some HUD elements being too small (like objectives in the Datapad)

We're working on that

I play exclusively on the Deck and it's wonderful! Still early access so it's not 100% smooth 100% of the time, but pretty damn close. Auto aim is optional and adjustable too.
Not impossibly difficult, it plays well on the Steam Deck and with controllers in general. Most of playtime has been on the Steam Deck, it’s a good experience, especially for a game in early access.

Been working great for me on the Deck.

It's overall excellent, but even on the Steam Deck Low preset, performance could be better. GZDOOM is a tricky engine to optimise.

Keeping the flashlight off helps (I know it’s needed sometimes but when it’s not, leave it off). I didn’t realize how impactful it was to performance until I saw the dev reply to the UndertheMayo video on YouTube. It can knock 15-20fps off the frame rate on the LCD steam deck.

Open the advanced options and go down to the right stick options. It's there, I have it set.

You can invert any axis with trivial ease in Steam input, wether the game has a setting for it or not

You're right, there's a huge fps impact by using the flashlight. Performance still isn't quite where I'd like it to be but it's better. 👍

Not playing on the Deck myself but the game feels amazing on a controller. Might be the same on the Steam Deck

Agree, I’m a weirdo who plays all my PC games on controller and their controller implementation is very good. I made a few changes- like mapping slide to the L3, grenade to RB, and weapon wheel to LB, and toggle crouch to B. But it’s just because of muscle memory for using controllers for so many first person shooters. The aiming and layout was pretty good already though.

I'm happy to hear that people enjoy the gamepad implementation

I play it on steamdeck but docked to a huge 55 inch tv and I use a PS5 controller it is great !
