I gave away my axe without getting more wood to make another...

one of the first quests I received was to find / make an axe for the mechanic. However, when I talked to him I accidently gave him mine without harvesting more wood to make one. now I have 1 pc of wood and no axe and not enough wood to make a new one.... its too early in the game to unlock the pier either...
do I just restart this point? :/

Hi! If you are unable to find any other means to gather wood, and assuming you have at least 2 crafting tables, you could use a pickaxe to destroy the second crafting table and get back some wood logs! Please let us know if that helped =]

I tried what you said, but i didn't have a second crafting table, and the furnace gave me planks back. its okay tho, i ended up restarting and now im farther than I was.
