How do you increase Castle level?

All the upgradable places(Shop, Stables, Blacksmith and Dojo) are Level 2, but it says that I should increase my Castle level to get them to 3. How do I do this?

Finishing Ch 1 unlocks Citadel mode. There's missions there that give u Lumber, fabric, and 1 other. These r used to upgrade buildings. But the max u can do is tied to progression.

I had to look up a guide for this online because I had no idea how to level up my castle because the game just tells you to play the story. Apparently you level it up after beating Mitsuhide's chapter 1 and Nobunaga's chapter 4. I assume the last level is unlocked after you beat the campaign for the endgame stuff like nightmare mode.

You probably do, I beat nobunaga's story and mine still needs another level

Bah... Oh well. It has to be done, I suppose.

You do the unlocking in Citadel mode. That's where your Fabric, Lumber and stuff are. But it's tied to your Musou Story progression. So once you've leveled it up as much as you can, you have to do some more story mode before you can level further.

You need to do it anyway because it's increases loot. Difficulty and total number of beaten stages is what matter for the weapon drop.

Just finished Nobunaga chapter 3, got level 2 castle

complete chapter 6 = lv 3
complete the rest = lv 4

just finished chapter 3 mitsuhide and it gave me the last castle unlock, at least the castles in the top left are all filled out, not sure if lv 5 is the highest upgrade tho since I don't have enough materials to even upgrade haha
