For the convoy, I try to make sure I'm hitting it with a triple sync attack every turn, and then as many individual attacks as I can manage. There are some good combos that help even with base loadouts and no level ups, like taking Tarma with the knife and Marco, you should be able to use his Marco Salvo ability for free every other turn, use it on Tarma, then move Tarma next to the truck. With a sync and regular attack (and Marco Salvo), Tarma himself is doing 15 damage already, then whatever else you can pile on. Should take the convoy down quickly.
I'll probably go Air Strike.
Oh wait, if it really is a mech I better try it lol. :)

it needs a bridge-laying add-on upgrade.
Can the Slugnoid leap over spaces/chasms between areas/platforms?
In the original series, many Slugs did have a limited hydraulic jump ability, so it's weird that they don't in this one.
As for the truck: One of the most common weapon upgrades you'll get is something that doubles your damage to vehicles with a special weapon.
The slug should be able to jump per the original games, but I figure they have to differentiate them somehow.
