Eri is honestly up there for me as a number 1, her explosion jump is honestly insane and you can easily upgrade it to max very early on and having access for two attacks that do 8 damage each for super cheap adrenaline points (plus her skills all either help her gain adre or make them cheapter) is pretty busted. For bosses you can also stack the jump for 16 damage(requires a bit of practice) which is incredible. Since you're gonna be using her skills so much you dont have to bother upgrading her weapons which means more resources can go towards your other 2 teammates. Her skills also give her an incredible amount of movement before and after doing actions which also help out in setting up syncs or just getting out of dangerous spots.
Fio is also another one that is just a really consistent and versatile character in a game where everyone is specialised. She and Marco are the only ones that have access to healing which is a godsend. Her support skills are also really good, she is basically insurance. Out of place or want to put a dangerous enemy on a delayed attack's spot? Just use her Nudge skills. Need to tank a big hit? She can apply shield multiple times a turn if you get some of her skills (which also translates to mass healing if you got that skill too). She can also dish out a decent amount of damage. Her Meticulous loadout also gets a huge boost in the midgame when you can afford to use her support skills reliability and being able to do 8 damage a turn from her special weapon with a status effect( being targeted by enemy/bosses also count as a status!) helps contribute to the team's damage output.
On the opposite end,
Nadia is just straight up terrible to be honest. As the difficulty goes up you are basically building the team around her and hoping you roll some of her better skills. While her skills are all very good on paper, she cant perform actions after summoning her drone unless you score kills (with a specific skill, i think). She basically helps you win faster when you are already steamrolling the enemy but instantly breaks under the slightest pressure of mildly dangerous enemies.
