New to this game need help

Hi i am new to this game
how and where do i get wooden beam and resin
i hope som one can help :)

Resin comes from the birch forest tiles when you cut down birch trees. To cut down birch trees you'll need tin axe, so you need to craft the smelter and anvil, which i believe is available from the T3 work bench. Wooden beam you need to make the saw mill crafting station first, you'll be able to craft it as you upgrade your work bench.
