Also, are there more building tiles and roof tiles or not?
If you are still early in the game your choices will be more limited.
Once you upgrade your workbench a few times and can build the sawmill to make planks and beams, and the furnace to make tin ingots, and the anvil to turn tin ingots into tin nails- then you'll be able to make plank roof pieces, like the corner pieces and peaked roof pieces I used.
Make sure you remember to check your workbench as you level up your shelter- there are buffs you can apply with each level your shelter gains. Some help with combat stats, some help with crafting buffs, etc.
I know about buffs. It's cool we can change them whenever we want
