cant build peltboots, cant find clay or build better axe

hey i have some problems:

i have all possible gears and maptiles. have level 4 basecamp

cant find clay for better workbench
cant build a better axe to chopp the birch trees to get the stuff for the boots..

can someone help? thx

You can find clay at the farmlands. The first tile should be a ranch with 2-3 clay spots, so you'll have to wait for the respawn 1-2 times. If I recall correctly, I unlocked the farm after finishing up the ice fishing quest.

hey thanks. i read something about farmlands. but i have no tile with this title. ice fishing? i cant go into the cold lands.. because no >boots

With a tier 4 workbench you should already have access to the tin axe you need.

Make furnace and anvil to craft tin axe > Cut down birch trees for resin > Craft pelt boots.

no i havent! thats why i am confused.
cant build new axe. i nee clay for the next tier of workbench

While a tin axe should do the trick for chopping birch, sometimes a melee boost from the workbench perk will do the trick (tier 2 i think?). There are 3 birch trees in the same camping grounds where (Sayna?) asks you to craft boots.

Oh, tin is found by lakes. You just need to make a furnace to smelt the tin. You do not need a workbench upgrade. Both axes and boots are made by hand.

i have a furnace. the highest that i can buld is the "stronger axe" dont know correct english name

Do you have a tannery and have you made leather and leather strips? One of the tool upgrades require those.

aah sorry.. i am totally blind. the icons of th axe and pickaxe are exact the same of the "normal" ones. i thought its the same and didnt craft it :'D thx for all answers

im using enhanced pickaxe and hitting the rocks at the first snow biome says "tool too weak"

im stuck at "make pelt boots" quest

yeah you need the "tin axe". you can build it after having the anvil
