I have not done it yet but I saw brown looking patches on the ground that I asusme is clay and you need the shovel to dig it up.

I went around all the biomes and tried to dig out all the clay-like spots, nothing is digging

I finally found them in the farmland biome. They are few

How did you discover this biome?

I had the same issue, I had missed the letter on top of the crate at the trading post at a certain point in the story.

Have same issue, pretty much the story requires Workbench V, but at the same time the only tile that has clay is the unique story one. The other "farm" tiles provided do not spawn with clay (plains/farm and praire/farm both only 1 corner of farm). Seems like a larger farm tile should be unlocked at that point.

Can be circumvented by save+reload which respawns the nodes..

I would guess after you finish his quest line, the other "farm" tiles spawn (like a solid square). I could be wrong tho ... currently stuck because his stupid cows won't go anywhere. >.>

What is given first is more of the farmer's tiles - corn and wheat fields, that also have a couple clay spots each.

After you finish the quest line is the key statement here. You need clay to finish the quest line that will give you access to more clay spawn points than those 2 on quest farm.. It is dependency hell in form of a quest :D

Yeah, that seems like poor design.

Have you found a way to get the cows to the prescribed places?

I feel like the respawn rate of resources is glitchy/inconsistent vs. the Prologue. Not just maybe lengthened, but something's wrong. Sometimes I can stand around and see things respawn within a day. Sometimes if I travel by horse to my base and back, they've respawned, but sometimes not. Sometimes they don't repsawn even if I restart the game.

Sometimes I can delete a tile and replace it back and things respawn. Sometimes I do that and they don't. And so on.I don't really understand it.

At any rate, when you only have the farmer's house tile, you just have to keep fast travelling or reloading the game to try to get the spots to respawn faster to get what you need initially, if the respawn seems borked in your session.

Yeah you get clay onthe special farmland tile you get along the questline. BUT it only has 2 and respawn takes about 2 ingame day. So basically you HAVE to wait 4 at least 4 days to get progress, or reload game, which respawns all enemies and you have to clearit all out again. It would be better to give me a farmland tile, instead of forcing this time waste

btw, this is followed by infuriating escort mission. You have to escort two cows, but you have to stay in REALLY close range. So close that you can only escort ONE at a time. As a cherry on top, they move like 1/4th of your speed. It took me the whole ingame day to just walk two tiles with cows

I run into similar situation like with Clay, but even worse with Copper. Mission tile requires copper - none of the biome tiles related to it (canyon) seem to spawn it, they only contain coal.

EDIT: Got copper as a.. random drop in a barrel somewhere. I am pretty sure this is not the way to progress the game, just pray to RNG?
