Junk vs. Resources?

Is there a way to tell if what you're selling is junk vs. a material/resource that could be used in blueprints? For example, books and tin cans only seem good for selling while rope is something you craft and use in blueprints, but all three are labelled as 'miscellaneous.'

No, not really. It's just periodically checking all the crafting menus as they come up to find out what resources they need to build, decide if you care or not.

Like you need a book to craft the Recipe book, and a bookshelf under one of the later Workbench tiers, but I think that's all I saw for that. Fish oil for one of the lamps I think. Usually won't need many of such if it ends up used in a craft - unless you want a wall of 20 bookshelves for some reason - so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
