I use roll20, and one of the current maps I am using was very blurry, so for a few of the important areas, I remade using this software and then imported them into roll 20.
Of note, the maps are very detailed and at high quality, can export as a large file. I use adobe photoshop to reduce the size and convert to png while keeping most of the quality.
generating a location on the fly
My party has a habit of ending up in places I hadn't expected during a session. I used to just drop in a location from another adventure when that happened (ask them about the time about half of Cynidecia ended up in Ascore...).
Lately if they zig when I had prepared a zag, we take a five minute bathroom/smoke break and I can throw together a dungeon/tavern/house/town in real time. It's not perfect because I still have to populate it with NPCs or monsters, but it saves a lot of work.
generating a map for printing
If I (foolishly) think I know what the party is going to be doing the next week, I can generate the full-size maps for export and send them to staples for printing on big poster-sized maps. The export quality is more than good enough for printing at 1.25-inch squares, but there aren't a lot of controls for the export quality so YMMV.
It's also be able to export the json/txt file for the following VTT: Fantasy Grounds Unity, FoundryVTT, Roll20, and VTT supporting the universalVTT-format.
Other file formats (like webm) will come in the future.
