Am I screwed?

So... I was playing on the hard difficulty for my first run, just stating that as that may be the reason I screwed up so bad, so I know it's my fault sort of thing.
I couldn't get enough money for fame to upgrade the stall twice, and without updating the stall the second time - I can't get any of the wood working workbenches. Well that is a problem because after the first fair, all the main/special orders require wood working, and the "Quarter" is "Spring" which has the fun little tags of "Can't update stall" and "Can't add any rooms" for the whole duration.
So, in those 30 days so far, I have messed up 5 big orders that required wood, and completely screwed myself gold wise, and "favor" wise. I feel like this is screwing me bad enough I am about to fail, does it seem worth it to keep trying or just restart the whole run?
I did beat Jean on the first fair though! So that was fun.

Well, it is kind of hard to say :D You are already half way through the second chapter of the story, so you really should've gotten woodworking items.
Missing a couple of quests should not really affect you that bad, if you still did not get a game over, you can still try and improve this run.
