How to upgrade the stall

How can I upgrade the stall? It says I need 50 fame but where can I see how much fame I have? I expected it to be the standing number, but thats now at 65 (with the french) and still cant upgrade the stall.

You have to upgrade your rooms style to increase max fame amount.
It took me a while to figure out how, even tho they mentioned it, it wasn't clear or I wasn't paying attention.

Fame is actually on the right hand side near the other materials. It'll be number/number. I think it's under metal bars. It's a bit of a silly place for it, as it's important. It should be on the top or a separate panel bar at the top of the UI so it's easy for everyone to see.

i'm at 49/49 prestige from upgrading my rooms.
i can't upgrade the stall til i get 50.
game says i can't build more rooms til i upgrade the stall.

am i waiting for a story mission to come and change this?

also, books, and room types... will hiring an employee trigger a new room type, new book to learn? or is that also tied to the stall upgrade?

edit: nevermind! i figured it out.
i was only upgrading the wall and roof. but you can also upgrade the door, floor, ladder.
so now i'm at 49/74

you have to get 50/50 to unlock the stall upgrade. raise it by upgrading your housing materials. read my above post.

To increase Maximum Fame
Improve Floor of rooms, Doors of rooms, Roof of rooms (if they have em) and Walls of rooms.

also you can do the ladders down into your basement rooms. They bug out a bit if you do the basement room first, but you can work around it by selecting different upgrade levels before going back to the one you want

Thanks for posting this. I was stuck at 41 fame and couldn't move forward. It's definitely not intuitive that you can update the door and other things.

When I changed the wall treatment for my room upstairs, it increased me the fame but didn't actually change the image of the wall.

also there's the slight problem with clicking purchase in those menus when clicking the right side of the screen if it overlaps the underlying build options menu. it won't work. you'll have to move your camera to the right so the menus do not overlap. else the purchase doesn't go through.
