Can I safely sell notes/diaries for the achievement?

Trying to collect them all for the lore master achievement, but sick of them taking up so much space in my stash.

EDIT: One last thing that's just come to mind, do wendigos only spawn in chapter 1? I forgot to get the chieve for killing one while drunk

Don't know about selling notes, as for the wendigo, there is one in chapter 2 too, didn't see any other.

If I'm not mistaken, south east of the map, right outside the cultist's hideout bigger entrance.

You can sell the notes after you collect them.
There are multiple wendigo spots in ch.2:
1. As mentioned above, the large cultist hideout entrance.
2. There are 2 wendigos and a death stalker in a cave around the fort, I think its close to the separate palisade structure that overlooks a cliff.
3. There is one along the way leading up to the lighthouse.
