Can't find backpacks in chapter 2

I'm in chapter two, didn't find the Buffalo Rifle at the top of the tree house (where there is a wraith gunslinger). Also didn't find any backpack upgrades (only bought the Traveler's Backpack from the priest). I've checked the alligator farm. the sawmill. Also checked the wooden tent past the town. What am I missing? Please help.

I've fully upgraded the Strong Back skill though. Am I not supposed to find the bags just because I've upgraded the skill? Is there a condition or a quest to find those bags?

I think one of the last updates said that backpacks no longer spawned in the world and that you can only buy one of each.

As Gort mentioned, backpacks lying in the wild has been removed - players can only buy one backpack of each type once. To compensate, each backpack has seen increase in the size of their "inner inventory".

In Chapter 3 you will have access to the Undead selling the biggest backpack in case you have missed it. So fear not and check with your favourite traders. ;)
