No idea what to do in the farm

For the life of me i dont know what to do with the two dudes in the farm, i've explored the whole map but i havent been able to find the key to the safe or what im supposed to show or do to make them remember the key. Pls help

Key is upstairs in 1 of the farms, safe is in the middle of the wheat field. Open it then talk to ghost

It is not upstairs, it is in the house with the one of the ghosts on a shelf in the first room.

Yes it is, unless it can be different per playthrough. I assumed house is part of the farm which is why I said one of the farms aka farmhouse. There is not a direct stairs but its directly up of the room/part of the house (or farm) with the ghost. It is not on a shelf but on the edge of the broken ceiling plank.

I found the safe but not the key. Both places have no key

I think that the key is in the attic of one of the houses. Check out beam coming off the floor when you're up there.

If it's not there, my guess is that the key is in the basement. When facing farms, check left, there is one of them that has a flight of stairs going down. I think it's near a cage, just a few steps away from the stairs you came from.

I found it on a ground floor woodpile and accidentally completed the quest before talking to the second ghost...
