They ever address that previous chapter weapons suck absolute garbage ass in later chapters?
This is the main reason I stopped playing.
I had a pretty fun time playing through Ch.1 and when I got to Ch.2 and everything felt like I was tickling things with my cool weapons I just gave up.
They ever fix this or is it even worse now that Ch.3 is out?

I play this on GoG, but I'd say that while your chapter 1 weapons can certainly be improved upon later on, there are some weapons that stay quite competitive. Orb is solid, and you're able to buy the hat specifically to improve it at the start of chapter 2. The axes and bone knife are good and will hold you over until you can replace them (if you even want to replace the bone knife); and same goes for the spirit bow if you like to use it.

Some weapons can hold you over for the whole game if you want to use them. Yes, there's better, but depending on skills and artifact selection you can keep older stuff viable.

Regardless, we'll need to see what the developer is launching on the 19th as far as patches and expansion are concerned. They may even expand the viability of various weapons, as seems to be their stated intent.

I hear you, but I don't think this is true all that often apart from the weakest of CH1's legendary weapons. CH1 in particular has some shotguns + melee weapons which are good enough to carry through at least CH2 if not CH3, and I think all of CH2's legendary weapons are AT WORST slightly outclassed by their CH3 equivalents. Personally, I don't see how a developer could keep chapters from having progressively tougher enemies, there's gotta be a learning curve somewhere right?

I should also point out that you're talking about using a prior chapter's weapons in circumstances where just basic exploration would yield a few of that chapter's legendary weapons. With that plus the emphasis on stealth in mind, you should also consider that headshots and sneak attacks do massively improved damage. So the quieter you are, the less your weapons will feel like tickling and the harder they will hit. Also, it's hard to say how much the game has changed since you've played, so idk if skills or artifacts would help you out here, but CH2 has some really good artifacts depending on your preferred style of play.

TLDR: I can't say you've got a skill issue, but I've not seen "I can't kill the enemies" phrased like that. Maybe this was an issue in a really old version or maybe you need to take a different approach to the game, I can't really speak for your experience.

Going from stealth damage doing almost nothing in Ch.2 to deleting enemies when I swapped from my spirit bow to a random non-unique shotgun made me put the game down for a long time.
The damage difference was just too great at the time.
Though this was when Ch.2 had just came out so there could have been balance changes. I could have phrased things quite a lot better but I was tired when I posted and going off foggy sad memories of going from one of my favorite games to "I really hope they fix this later."
I remember this being a big point of discussion at the time too. Lots of people really sad their Ch.1 weapons were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in Ch.2
