I'll admit that one of my few complaints about the game is that weapons become obsolete each chapter, so aside from the "Orb of Night" revolver few things from the first chapter are viable in the second much less third part of the game.
Not sure how stealth headshots with a crossbow doesn't kill most enemies in Chapter 2, even a two-shot headshot with gold bolts from the Iron Thorn will drop a Death Stalker and Gunslinger. You sure you are actually getting headshots, sometimes I'm sure I get a hit only to see it hit just below the nape of the neck area on drowners or scallywags. Thorn has been a headshot machine for me and I just hit Chapter 3 and am still using it.
Btw, Iron Thorn is south-east of the swamp puppy farm, its guarded by several gunslingers but it's behind a rock so you should be able sneak around to it.
Shot the left guy square in the back of the head from stealth with thorn and cowboy hat, he shrugged, turned around, alerted his buddies and shot leeches at me. And this is one of the weakest act 2 enemies
I guess I need to upgrade to better bolts to 1hk enemies
I get OHK stealth headshots with the orb of night (30 dmg), but not with the drunken master (20dmg), so I started using it again.
This without any +dmg perks. (except invisible man, which might-- I think I might recall "stealth efficiency" increasing stealth damage, but I'm unsure about the veracity of that memory).
That bolt should have killed that guy. Try taking off the hat and see if it still works? I'm beginning to suspect some items do the opposite of what they claim..
Btw the cowboy hat is only supposed to buff *revolvers*, so there's no point to it if you aren't using one.
