♥♥♥♥ outside of Chapter 1, a tomahawk (ALSO CHAPTER 1) does as much damage as the charged attack and CAN BE THROWN.
>Sprit bow
♥♥♥♥ even in chapter 1, just buy the bullets for a normal gun and run loud when you get discovered- you know that killing an enemy makes the shot silent, right? Nearby enemies *will* actually notice their dead comrade now, and run toward the corpse...but that's a boon not a curse, since they didn't hear the shot.
Just keep a loaded sawed-off in your offhand in case ♥♥♥♥ REALLY hits the fan and you'll be good (decapitator/emerald eyes* ftw).
>Orb of Night
Absolute noob trap trash. Get the drunken master EVEN IF you never drink alcohol. The 15-round mag size, 50%+ faster reload/firing speed, and steadier aim+longer range make it more than competitive with the orb sans fanfire, and probably is still better even then.
15 shots before needing to reload is NOT something to take lightly, and it more than makes up for the slightly lower damage-per-bullet.
Orb of night is trash, leave it in the STASH.
>left hand path
You know there's a bow and a shotgun version of that in chapter 2, right??
You're actually searching the whole map, RIGHT????
Killing things is not the problem and never has been. This thread is about how much it costs to acquire everything before moving onto Act 3.
kills most things in act 1 even when thrown, in act 2 how are you getting bone knife kills? Pure headshots?
Have you tried pure headshots with the tomahawk?
>Emerald Eyes
Use a purple elixer and you should be right as rain. Unless you die. How often do you die?
>drunken master
Should be replaced by Hedera come act 2. Hermit stick is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because of it's low mag size, low range, and inappropriate bonus effects (acid resist lmao). Better to use the ammo in the Emerald Eyes or Decapitator.
>Spirit bow
Is trash from the get-go per the previous post. If you have a bow fetish you should use the actually-broken weapon, Blood Hunt, come chapter 2.
Seriously, what the hell? You're used to """free ammo"""? jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ it costs health, how many $$$ to replace each lost hitpoint? No sitting in a corner for 5 minutes of your IRL life is NOT cheaper than the 10 in-game $$ that buying a few arrows would cost you.
And no, not the ideal "but I regen hp if I get a perfect headshot kill so it's technically 'free' then!" how much PER SHOT if you don't hit the ideal? Put it in bandages/health potions if you need to.
Alternatively:
BUY SOME DAMN ARROWS THEY'RE DIRT-CHEAP AND THE +80% RECOVERY PERK IS 1 (ONE) O N E SINGLE ATTRIBUTE POINT.
IT ONE-SHOTS SKIN COLLECTORS IF YOU BUILD FOR IT.
Also do you really not enjoy collecting your missed arrows after a fight?
♥♥♥♥ is cash, almost akin reading a short story, man. How do you not enjoy that??
@bankai
>iron thorn
It is, but it loses ground should you ♥♥♥♥ up and not kill the enemy on the first shot.
So you deserve the punishment, but it IS still a thing..
>hunger
honestly debateable if you're using it exclusively for stealth kills.
I did, back in the day, and I shelved the orb and other revolvers for eternity.
It's just no contest with HOW MUCH FASTER the shots/reloading are and the 200%+ mag well.
Firefights that would have exhausted the standard 6 revolver bullets and 4+ shotgun shells are instead settled in 10-12 lever shots. No switching required (though it might speed things up).
Lever actions are so underrated it's not even funny.
Also eh, I think tomahawk headshots aren't that hard at 10m, compared to the 1m knife headshot range...they're comparable. Especially now that there's a perk to increase thrown weapon damage & range.
But Tomahawk has more style.
And they're both better than chapter-1 bone knife + spirit bow.
Meanwhile, bone knife works even after endless hunger...but many things work much better than either.
Four Winds, The Edge, Left Hand Path, and Blood Hunt/Iron Thorn are all options I'd consider as better fits in the same role. Mainly being silent & with unlimited or recoverable ammo.
-edit
I suspect I'm not a fan of Needle. The 30% reduced damage is nice ala endless hunger if you fail to kill, and the +30% sneak is nice as well, but honestly I still think using something like the edge or left hand would be the better stealth kill option for discerning sneakers.
The 25% instakill on surprise-hit is a noobtrap. If it doesn't instakill everytime you sneak attack it's just inviting more OH-♥♥♥♥ moments, which is anathema to true sneak players.
If it's good enough to make an actual difference, (that is, if the weapon itself often fails to kill any enemy *regularly*), then that makes the weapon BAD overall.
And otherwise, that perk is more-or-less useless.
Not good.
Needle isn’t a noob trap just redundant for the final chapter extra sneak is good along with attack reduction that is weaker the hunger. To bad devil eye is so bugged that left hand hits harder then any weapon in the game.
Left hand only hits harder than other weapons if you get that new berserker perk tree, last I knew.
The other % x missing hit point weapons were all equally broken.
The anti-bleed perk also helps with edge.
I'd say 1-shotting death stalkers AND/OR being out of their reach is better than reducing their damage.
T. someone who will gladly spend 16$ to skull back and pick up a longrifle for death stalkers.
You'll have to fill me in on devil eye haven't gotten to ch3 yet lol.
The red eye relic in chapter 3 is suppose to raise health up to 30% for killing enemies. It does, until you save, exit, reload and every enemy you killed until you saved gets added to your health.
I fought the final boss with over 7k health and the left hand health scales with that missing health. Hitting harder then any weapon.
No... not really. Bone knife has only 2 dmg on heavy swing less, with melee totem blessing as well as melee dmg boost from perk (Fast Hands) you get an additional 9 dmg. A surprise attack deals x10 dmg and a headshot x5 dmg, meaning a surprise melee headshot dealing x15 dmg.
Every single enemy up to chapter 2 aside from bosses, skin collectors, cultists, ethereal gunslingers (or whatever they are called), vendigos and death stalkers is a guaranteed one-hit from a normal surprise attack.
Ethereal gunslinger, cultists and vendigos require a surprise melee headshot to be one-hit. But even if you don't get a surprise melee headshot for an instant kill, you still only need to hit the head with a heavy swing once to finish them off.
Since enemies are so slow to react and often times play an animation before even attacking you, landing the needed additional head stab is rather easy.
So there are only skin collectors and death stalkers left. Skin collectors can easily be surprise attacked and then finished off with a shotgun and death stalkers I wouldn't want to engage them with a dagger in the first place.
In other words the damage debuff on endless hunger is a waste, because everything is dead anyways. In fact the bone knife is far superior, because it increases stealth and movement speed, two stats that are highly beneficial, if you want to get these surprise melee headshots.
