Thanks for the answer to that!
From a player perspective, would it be possible to make some sort of indicator that killing the boss of Chapter 1 (and 2) will lock us out of the area? I was a little surprised when I beat the Ch1 fight and wasn't able to go back to pick up a couple items I had left for last minute exploration. Not a huge deal, just thought I'd be able to explore some and then go somewhere to leave the map.
Can't wait to see Chapter 3!
I just did the same thing few moments ago. I saw another active quest on the map, but it was far away on the map so I thought I'd do the one that was closer. After defeating the boss, I couldn't cancel the selection just choose the next chapter.
You say that but "final quest"? About to abandon this game, the quest to go to the "canyon" was at the bottom while "go to the church" was on top, and as it's even in the "starter area" I thought it was a secondary mission as I got all those pieces of gold "just because", without following any quest.
Short Answer: Bye! This is a fantastic game. YOUR loss.
You've gamed for 13+ years but haven't learned the boss fights are the end of a chapter?
The forums give you advice (WARN YOU) about weapons, enemies AND strategy
There's even a Totem just BEFORE the boss fight that gives you the OPTION to delay
If YOU choose to charge ahead that's YOUR decision (not the Devs fault).
It's a challenging way to play... but has drawbacks.
Your "Why didn't you tell me?!"
becomes "YOU should have checked..."
PRO-TIP: THINK MORE THAN ONE MOVE AHEAD.
When "new game plus" is available, you can go back and pick up what you missed the first time as well as adjust your style of play based on your now advanced capabilities.
ANYWAY... you can leave if you wish.
I'M having a blast. THIS game is more fun than most AAA games.
Yup

** Yes, I realize the irony of posting a fitness analogy on a game forum where most players have never been outside...
