Achievement bug?

I just started the game and I was wondering if the achievements are bugged. I don't want to play any further for now if they are.

For example, I finished Jill's quest but the "Completed Jill's Quest" achievement didn't pop up.

I think mine are bugged too, I can't get the painters achivement to pop up

The achievements are fine. You have to do Jill's 2nd quest on the big island. And the painter's set has 4 pieces.
