There are lots of small side quests and a few big ones. The option for one of the endings is only available after completing one of the big side quests. It's not fully story driven if you're asking if everything is only about the main questline.
No hobbies or life sim type stuff. There's fishing and mining but I wouldn't categorise them as hobbies. You can get a house that can be upgraded with crafting stations, but I found it to be quite useless and you aren't free to personalise it with decorations or moving things around.
Haven't played Divine Divinity. I can say that it's not like Divinity: Original Sin 2. Drova is less complex. For example, you can beat up most NPCs (and there's mostly no consequence for it) but you can't outright kill anyone unless it's part of a quest, even certain bandits won't die if you fight them. Larian would let you murder the whole world without it breaking the game.
All that being said... I really like Drova. It's a good game. Just remember that it's an indie RPG with an indie scope that'll only take 20-30hrs to beat.
Seems like a lot of people do multiple playthroughs. I personally have 70hrs across two playthroughs.
