Is the quest The Old Man at the Market bugged?

For me the quest is not progressing, I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
Some old timer by the large rock in Nemeton market says he had a bearskin that someone stole (Femke) and the quest says that he stores his skins under his stall. At night, I might want to pay a visit to that place. Which I have, I stole the Bearskin, even though I previously also killed a few bears and wanted to give him a completely new bearskin instead but the quest is not updating. Does anyone know how to progress? There is nothing left to investigate in the stall and nothing happens when I talk to Femke OR the old man... Stumped..

Do you also have Apples and the Bread Knife? Apples should be easy, but the bread knife you need to actually buy from the weapons vendor just a bit north. It's a type of dagger, which threw me for a loop the first time.
