Wait, what? You're forced into fighting the Mighty Boar?
I'm assuming there must be a route where you don't have to fight the divinity? You know, since the player character joins the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mighty Boar cult? Am I missing something here?

Edit: Warning! Don't play this game if you don't want to kill creatures you are forced to befriend!

Per discussion online, looks to be the case. ♥♥♥♥ that. I'd slaughter the lot of these douchbags and protect the divinity. Love hamfisted RPGs. Deleted and 1/5 review (Xbox).

You doubt the Mighty Boar's reasons and intentions? You think you know better than a divinity? You are unworthy of your spark.
Yes its a rail to advance the story, you are gonna miss the rest of a great game because the devs made a tiny rail in a open world game? Not ideal i know, i would have liked to have a choice too, but thats what we got.

Nah, I won't ever play a game that forces you into some sort of degenerate choice. ♥♥♥♥ that completely. I would of thought someone who named themselves "Sgt Jesus" would understand!

This is some Elon Musk refusing to play GTA because you have to shoot cops level stuff LMAO.

Ah ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. They literally have you assisting the village that worships the Mighty Boar, along with helping its freaking offspring. And then they want you to stab them all in the back. Somehow that's analogous to shooting cops in GTA? Get the ♥♥♥♥ outta here peanut.

You paid 0 attention to the story and it shows. Kindergarten level comprehension.

The Bonded are secluded hippies who do not care about the world around them. They have their virtues without the power or will to act upon them for change.

Diemo wanted you to murder two wanderers because they caught a couple of baby boars to eat. He's a fanatic cultist and the Bonded live in a pipe dream. If they continued, the world would crumble around them.

They also sacrifice boars themselves. If you don't help Cay, Birka talks about making a sacrifice to appease the Mighty Boar. If you look around the forest, you'll see a sacrifice table hidden in a cave with dried blood everywhere, a boar skull, and a boar hide on it.

It's also hinted that the Mighty Boar wants you to capture it. That's why you become a Bonded so easily. That said, I wouldn't mind a route where the Mighty Boar willingly lets you capture it or Diemo helps you capture it peacefully. The developers have mentioned a change in the next major patch to alleviate some player worries about Act 3 railroading.

Just because a story portrays a character, even your character, doing something does not mean that action is good or even endorsed by the author. The story heavily emphasizes that you did something bad in the short term.

I must admit, that part of the story was a bit of a letdown.
And after taking the boar captive, what impedes the guys to stay in the forest? Kinda made no sense to me.
While I was irritated, I can say it's worth to keep playing, because...well I don't wanna spoil it. But let's just say storywise and logically this was the weakest point of the game, it only get's better from here.
Why wouldn't you want to fight the mighty boar? Stupid pig, it obviously needed to die die die. I was delighted to slaughter it like... well.. a pig.
