Bandit heavy armor moved/removed?

Was trying to get the best start in act 1, but it seems as the chest which used to have bandit heavy armor is no longer there :( Has it been removed entirely, or moved to deeper into the cave? Such a shame..

Probably deeper into the cave. At least on Insane difficulty, the bandits don't follow you far so you cant get it anyway.

It requires a key to open it. I managed to cheese the three bandits near the entrance, but I ran out of resources to deal with the others inside the cave. I bet it's the spear bandit who has the heavy key.

I read that someone just lured bandits close to gate guards of the Camp. This way you give up on XP from bandits, but get armor early.

Never tried that myself though.

dont need to try this - the bandits will retreat as soon as you moved down the mountain

ive tried to get this armor in my first run but these old tipps dont work anymore
