the right mousebutton "investigation" has nothing to do with sneaking up to a person, chest or monster.
you need to "walk" (default is left shift) and even then you have to be careful, because the sleeping person will wake up if you are to close to them.
walking is also good for getting past stonebeasts (dont use torches!) and those pesky worms without getting attacked.
yeah makes sense for controllers, on kb+m its two seperate actions. i never used controller, so i dont know the button layout.
