Mandragora

How many mandrakes are there in the game world? I read that there are 3. Do mandrakes respawn? Someone wrote that they can randomly drop from chests and vases.

You can get Mandagoras from "jingling pouches". I'd estimate the odds to be somewhere around 1/500. If you savescum with 5 pouches you might get one after reloading 100 times. Pouches themselves drop from Crates (not vases) with a much higher chance, probably around 1/50.

I don't think you can get them from anything else random, but maybe at very low odds and I just haven't found it. There are 4 in the world that I know of plus 1 on a merchant, although one of those world spawns is part of a quest and you don't get to keep it.

I've found 3 on the world as of chapter 1 and a lot of exploring... and i've found one from pouches.
You can also buy one from a merchant in the way to The big city that i forgot the name. The other faction than the remnants

One mandragora was on the east of the remnants camp, on the closest ruins that have a lot of statues of the lords and ladies.

One was by the glowing red pillar on south of the tavern, by the end of the pink fields.

And one was on the far northeast of the map, close to the end

i found 2 in the wild (one of those 2 was part of the quest) and bought 2 from merchants (one each from the 2 merchants that stand on the west in front of nemeton, thought the second merchant only pops up in act 2 and goes missing later on again i think).

I had one kill me when I pulled it out of the ground. When I loaded the game I could just oull it out without damage (or dying). What's up with that?

Theres 2 in the northeast, One you come across while tracking the lost boot for the bridgeworker (farm side), and another that's directly north of the Leshin on the other side of the river

I auto sold all of the jingling pouches thinking they were just bags of gold. I have to go buy them all back -_- I sold them everywhere!

Pretty sure i found at least 6, maybe 7, excluding the one from the Man on the moor quest.

1 near Divine garden, 1 South of the Heath, 1 in the Primeval Forest, 2 in the Northeastern Floodplain, 1 on a merchant,

I might have forgot one on the moor in the lot

Seems to be bugged then. I found 2 by now, and in both cases they killed me at first, then I loaded the game and it just worked to pull them out. Didn't have earplugs (I had some, but immediately gave them away for a quest).

They do periodic sound attacks after you pull them up. You can safely pick them up between attacks.

Ugh, ME TOO!

Came here trying to find out if I should just start eating the rare ingredients for the ONE stat point instead of 3 with the Mandragora.

Following the location hints from some of the posts, I realized that what I thought was the Harpies singing was actually the Mandrakes!!! (feels bad, man...)

But now I know! (and hopefully it will help someone else!)

Jesko the merchant outside the western Nemeton gate also sells pouches for 15g, he also tops up his stock after each chapter he sells over 100 or so pouches in total I think.
