Concerning Chapter 2 skip
We've received plenty of feedback about players being unhappy about a possible skip of chapter 2 if you meet it's story conditions early. We are looking for ways to adress this, in-game, likely through giving similar clarity and choice in dialogue as you get before the final choice of joining a faction.
Thank you for your feedback and enjoying our game!

We've tried to address this issue in the new feedback patch 1.1. through some changes to the game - Tristan's map being available a chapter later (for many people have found it rather easily and mistook it for a treasure map), dialogue changes making it more clear that something relevant is happening, and changed dialogues in chapter 4 depending on an optional choice in chapter 3. Entirely removing the skip would railroad the game more and close areas off and remove some choice, so we hope the solution we opted for will be sufficient for you. :Cay:

Hey Fury, thank you for such fast response. I have just sent an ingame feedback!

So, how do you cheese Chapter 2? I can use it on my next play through.
Furious Fury  [desarrollador] 8 NOV 2024 a las 8:56 a. m.
You can't REALLY cheese it, you just have to do the quests before you get them from your faction

Another problem with skipping the second chapter is that it is impossible to get the "Last one standing" achievement. The Eugen event just doesn't show up in the right place. I had to do it separately on a clean save

how's the progress on it? i kinda wish i knew for how long i need to take a break from the game

There's no real reason for a break concerning this, there will be more clarity given, but you could just as well do or not do the skip on your own volition. The conditions are finishing all forest primeval quests and receiving your spark in chapter 1. Because those would have been your chapter 2 main quests. All that is missable through this is: An easier chance to help the woodcutters, if you joined the Remnants the Baptism of Fire, and a step in Gawan's Quest may be trickier. If you do not want to skip chapter 2, then join a faction before doing the forest primeval. The faction will then send you there with better armour etc. We are not planning to add invisible walls or the like to make the skip impossible, it'd go against our game design philosophy to arbitrarily cut the path off entirely, it seems like a worse solution.

its kinda to late for that since my last safe is already after i have done the primeval quest.i just wish i had a a choice of steping out of dialogue before i tell them i have already done it so i could explore the world a little on my own still in chapter 2. it isnt a wall its a door.

So you quit the game over this why? You don't make sense. Just continue the game. Chapter 2 isnt necessary and you are not missing any content.

Relax, im just taking a break, until i get this option (if i get it xd). i have a certain way of playing games and im allways trying to get as much content in a way that the devs inteded while also geting the best results. It is just how i am and after playing bg3 i learned that when i cornered my self in some place and few patches later devs provide an answer for that problem. And as i learned that skiping a chapter does make an impact on few very tiny parts of side stories i still care for them to this point i dont want to miss out on them.

Unfortunately there is one consequence of skipping chapter 2: it is impossible to get the achievement “Last One Standing”, because the event for it occurs only in the second chapter. This is very frustrating, as there are no saves left before the quests in the forest. I just wanted to do all possible quests before joining the faction. 😔

Personally, it doesn't matter to me because I'll still need to go through the game in iron mode for all achievements. But in general it would be logical to not give a spark before joining any faction. Then the issue would be closed. But for adding fast travel in patch 1.1 thank you so much!)

I dont want to sound like total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, becouse i love this game so much! Yet i dont understand how it is considered railroading to take away our choice of exploring the world state in act 2 before we confirm we got the spark? It's maybe becouse of my lack of knowledge, about in's and out's of game making or any other reason, but cant we just get and option to get out of the dialouge after geting accepted and just us being able to finish it by informing the faction leader later? I know im wierd but i hate skiping potentcial content no matter how small and unsignificant it is. i just wish i understood. To get what i want from this game i have to start over now, and god know what changes will i get with another patches. I love you guys and the work you did, i just dont understand how punishing me for exploration is considered "avoiding railroading".

The biggest issue for me is with the Woodcutters, I just got to chapter 3 through the skip cause I'm the kind of player that likes to explore everything and get stronger, but I felt extremely punished for exploring because it meant the death of everyone at the camp with the Quest, with no chance to change that if there is someway to like, let me go into chapter 2 or push that into chapter 3 and failing it through an actual amount of time passed via days slept or going into chapter 4 instead it would be better.

With that said I absolutely love the game overall, it's extremely cool and well done, my hat off to the Devs.

Is that true? Skipping chapter 2 means the woodcutters die? I thought you could still save them in chapter 3 but they die in chapter 4 if you dont check in? That would be a serious game design flaw, if you 'accidentally' skip chapter 2 and therefor cause the deaths of a nice camp. Because the spark is obtainable in chapter 1, the player can just get it and then unknowingly seal the fate of the woodcutters. They should die in chapter 4 not before.
